When will the Detroit Lions address the Back QB SITUATION?

  1. At this point, since the QB FA pool is really trash I'll take my chances with Carson Wentz. Him or Bridgewater.

  2. I think Wentz would be a serviceable backup. I think that he needs a good offensive line to bring back his confidence. Then draft a quaterback in the later rounds.

  3. 1) Jared Goff is one of the most durable QBs in the NFL, it’s unlikely we will ever see this backup, but I understand your concern for getting a proven dude
    2) The way this team is built. The defence is 100% going to improve… we know this… the D can hold teams to a low amount of points after in 2023 with Cam Sutton/Moseley/Prospects
    3) This is a top OLine in the NFL at this moment (including Big V) and we have two electric RBs. Swift is always gonna work with finesse and Monty is elite at breaking tackles. This running game/OLine can carry a team to a dub or 2 if needed.
    4) We have Ben freakin Johnson’s scheme/creativity that can seal a close game (Penei Sewell catch, Lateral in Week 18) and can be beneficial to a late round QB in the draft
    5) Why on Earth would we wanna spend money on (the only competent backups) Teddy B or Carson Wentz who are likely gonna ask for 5+ mil a year when we can draft a QB

Aidan O’Connell, Clayton Thune (I believe that’s how you spell it) are available as late round dudes. Let them game manage, Ben Johnson and the running game/OLine can carry them to a W. As long as they can throw a screen to Jamo or a slant to ARSB, we chillin.

    That’s my take on it

  4. Doesn't matter who the back-up is, they're not going to play a single meaningful down in the season, and if they do, that means Goff is out and our season is over. This is a moot point anyway, Sudfeld is our backup.

  5. Wasent it New England that draft’s a QB in the draft in hi picks about every 3 or 4 years. To me that would be the way to go. We might stumble in to greatness.
