  1. Sounds like you played pretty well, got a few unlucky breaks and could have putted better. For the most part you can come away happy with the way you played and like you say work on a few details. As a long time viewer of your videos I can see you game is in very good shape and you have a massive amount of talent. Keep it going Gen!

  2. The rough looks quite severe around the Rhino !!!! and lions are a TRUE hazard worth avoiding. 🙂
Great editing Gen. I really enjoyed it.
We are all with you. Good to have this perspective of a golf Pro navigating the Tours available to them.

  3. How long are you staying in South Africa? If i knew you were coming, i would have made plans to meet up and show you around and maybe have a round of golf. 😉 (BTW, they wouldn't steal your clubs because its too bulky to get away with. So Sorry you experienced that bad part of South Africa.)

  4. It's difficult to say what has already been said but continue to do you… it has helped me and my game.

  5. Hi Gen, do not leave anything on view in your car and check it’s locked before you leave it. When you play at the golf course keep your bag in sight, do not leave your valuables in your bag unattended.
South African roads are full of potholes so drive carefully and do not drive alone at night. I live in Johannesburg and we are used to it, Cape Town is much better…..keep smiling, play well.

  6. ”I never played a perfect 18 holes. There is no such thing. I expect to make at least seven mistakes a round. Therefore, when I make a bad shot, I don't worry about it. It is just one of the seven.”

    Walter Hagen

  7. Don't give up, you are so close to getting your dream. One good bounce a week will change your life forever.

  8. I've played with the mountain break. It takes some getting used too.
Next trip you will do better. Go Gen!
    Thank for the conversation.

  9. I enjoy listening to your life as a pro golfer and look forward to the day when you make the LPGA! I am sure your hard work will pay off!

  10. Hey Gen… wonderful update… I've been watching your scores and there was a lot more good than bad. I know you will keep doing your best, and the best is yet to come. #teamgen believe. 🐑☠✌😎

  11. Hi Genevieve Ling; I was very excited when i saw your name on my sports betting app this week! I was able to put a couple small wagers on you (the odds on you to win the South African women's open were +50000, so i bet a dollar for a chance to win $5,000 dollars! LOL, i didn't win, but it was just exciting to see your name and make a wager… Good luck and i wish you much success!

  12. Good luck Gen. I didn't like you making excuses (bad putting, bad bounce, etc) because those are the details that set apart the best in the world from anyone else :- )

  13. Nice one Gen, well done on performance and video, don't forget "Rental Cars" will always be a soft easy to see target, leave nothing in them. Keep going 👍

  14. That “breakthrough” is right around the corner for you. You’re super talented Gen. Never lose the perspective of your love for the game!

  15. Chin up Gen, nobody said golf was easy that’s why we love it so much. I sympathise with you on the contact lense thing, I find it hard enough to put them without having to hold a torch as well. Keep up the good work, that win is just around the corner 😎

  16. Stay strong, Gen. Your big break will come. You have the game and attitude to do amazing things.

The trials and frustrations that come from disappointments are merely a part of the journey.

These tough experiences will only help make you a more resilient golfer, and your successes

will taste so much sweeter when they come. You will have earned every accolade.

You already know playing on new types of grasses and unfamiliar local conditions always takes

some time to adjust to. So, never doubt yourself. Thanks for sharing your experiences — the good
and the bad.  Wishing you only the best as you chase your dreams.

  17. Watching the spoilt PGA brats on Netflix is just so boring when you follow the real challenges of someone on the fringes of the top tour. Thank you Gen, keep going, you'll get all the aspects of your game together soon, I'm sure! And I used to live in Joberg – I know what you mean!! Including the noisy birds 😄

  18. Genevieve, You might think about taking a local caddy next time….they know the course, the greens and can help with local knowledge….Something to think of next time you play in SA! Good caddies are worth the cost.

  19. Thank you Gen for keeping us close to what you’re up to. It really does sound so tough what you’re trying to accomplish. Keep up the great work.

  20. Geez, be careful Gen. Hope you get the rangefinder replaced soon.
Keep up the great work with your golf

  21. Hang in there Gen, as they say i might not win immediately but i will win all the best from Lilly from sunshine coast qld AUS. 🍉🥝🥯

  22. Thanks for the informative update! I think that over time you will harvest the rewards of your great attitude, hard work and extensive experience!

  23. Results will always be the result. Playing for the result always leads to inferior play. Play the process only. Always the process. The results will follow, and will vastly improve.

  24. It was great seeing you play in person just got unfortunately with some of the holes but I know you still got this

  25. This is such great insight into the grind of a tour pro outside the PGA/LPGA. Congrats on your 2nd round at SA Open. Shows your potential to be competitive on LET. So great to follow your journey and wish you every success.

  26. Hi Gen it was great meeting you at the Investec South African Women's Open at Steenberg CT. I enjoyed walking a few holes on the back nine with you on the 1st day.The mountain definitely play a part on the putting lines at Steenberg GC.You also had the worst of the rain weather on the first day.Looking forward to see you at the same event in 2024.
    Michael Steenberg CT

  27. Thanks for sharing your perspective, Genevieve! You've got this, just keep believing in yourself & good things will come your way. Your positive attitude and mindset is what makes you a great golf mentor!

  28. Please, please please Jen … upload a video on the strategy you use to DEFEAT an OPPONENT. How do you get in their head. How do you approach the mental aspect of the game of Golf. What plan do you make to COMPLETELY EVISCERATE everyone you are golfing against in a given tournament. Oh … wait …. I forgot … you think this is a "game." You think you can just show up and play your best and oh, well, if that's not enough, I'll just go home and live with mommy and daddy. Still waiting for the tone of this channel to change from someone PLAYING golf to someone WINNING golf.

  29. You have such a positive attitude. Keep it going and you will succeed. Bad breaks happen to us all. Loved the stories. Go Gen.

  30. you sure you locked the car when you walked into the grocery store? 😆😆

  31. You're a gem Genevieve 🙂 and a great player so keep that smile and I'm sure you'll smash the tour

  32. Gen you're just not long enough off the tee. I love you anyway 😊 load sharing is going to come to the United States pretty soon. Go look at Bryson dechambeau how to putt on YouTube.
