I played under par for the first time in a long time after lessons and minimal practice. My main focus will be getting out of my own way and learning my distances, tendencies and patterns.

From there I can eliminate bad shots, and create more good shots. I used the HOTO rangefinder which is a beautiful piece of machinery to guide myself around this course. I highly recommend it and will be in my bag.

  1. Thanks for all the videos, my handicap was 18 until last weekend, it's now 15. I shot my best round of 81 at my local course after shooting 91 the week before, my concentration lapsed in the last 6 holes where I shot 7 over due to some mistakes around the Green. Thanks for all the advice over loads of videos it's certainly paying off! Managing the course and not trying to smash the ball has made me far more consistent, confident and I have more control over the shot. inside my 100 meters has drastically improved. I hope to get down to a 5 handicap now, keep the awesome content coming

  2. It’s strange having a Buddy on YouTube who helps out with your game but you might not ever know anything about me or my game. Thanks for helping us all and for beeing entertaining in the same time!

  3. That top is baus , might add it to my ever growing waddaplaya collection 👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⛳

  4. Let's go playa! Let's get you that 64! I wanna get down to scratch this year, lots more low 70s scores to come 🙂 Had one 73 this year, a few 75's and 77's. One 79 and one 82.

  5. Thought you were going to do review of the rangefinder where you can shoot on distance and it will give you that distance but also after you shots pin will give you distance from that spot to the pin. Saw it in a video of PGA show. Waiting to see a demo. Would be great for CPO days.

  6. I know HOTO well. A few years ago, buddy of mine said he was looking for a HO. I replied, I am looking for a HOTO.

  7. This is as connected as you have ever been by far. The course, wind, lie, distance and your swing fundamentals all considered on every shot. Phd level instruction. I would suggest when you chip after you analyze the shot focus only on the landing spot. Burn the image of the flag out of your mind. Your brain and hands will land the ball there as if you were tossing it.

  8. I love these style of videos. I feel like baus matt does the best job of walking through exactly what he's doing on each shot, what he's thinking. etc

  9. Matty had the Grasshopper self talk in top form!! What a round!! Did the HoTo help bring that focus into range..I think it may have💂

  10. Thanks for another great upload Matt, really do learn a lot from your uploads! I have watched about all you videos! Like a baus!

  11. I have been following Golfsidekick since 2019. My golf game has gone from terrible to terrific. Following his advice and recommendations. Invested in my game. Golf lessons (10 lessons in 2020-21), lots of practice at the range and more on the green, new fitted golf clubs 2022-23 (Wilson Staff D9 irons, 3W-5W-7W, threw the driver away, new putter 2020 and range finder 2020. Awesome results for me personally from 2019 to 2023. Biggest investment and the best return, was the Waddaplaya birdie marker and pitch repair tool. I have been planting feathers and grew several birdies. It's guaranteed to work and it hasn't failed me.

  12. I like what you are doing now, Mat. You’re also playing with control on your swing. I saw something in your game that you need to improve on. I would be glad to see you do more strategic approach on the next video.

  13. You look confident in your chipping / pitching

The work with Eric has convinced you where it matters between the ears

  14. Fully erect every time the birdie music kicks in. Can only watch these videos in my private domicile.

  15. What I've always wanted is a distance between two horizontal points. So you know how wide fairways are in certain areas so you can decide how conservatively you need to play. Would probably need to be a GPS tool, so you're not reliant on line of sight

  16. The biggest thing that has helped me with my game is GIOTG. Stopped trying to get cute with the chip shots and have shaved strokes. Also helps with your mental and taking the pressure off yourself. Playing smart golf to my misses has helped tremendously as well. Thanks Playa

  17. Love it sidekick. I became an ex-pat 6 years ago and as a result haven't been able to get cards in and play medals. My club back in the UK has put me up from 8 to 12.8 (13). It's been a humble awakening but I'm determined to get it back to better than before – I want to be off 5. It won't happen this season but during my 3 week return to Scotland this summer I'd love to get back to single figures. Will require a card in my hand each round which will need to be sub 80. The swing has changed as has the grip and I'm on the range three times a week – including putting as I prepare. When I get to the course I'll have to fully embrace the way of the playa. My target is a 74. Thanks so much for the inspiration bro. Keep it coming.

  18. I just watched a video, 2000 dollar lesson with a pro in Bangkok. Now, I can't t find it? What's up?

  19. Am I losing it or was there a bdog lesson video posted earlier 40+ mins long which is now gonzo 🙂

  20. Bring back the lesson video! I bookmarked it to watch later, it started out with so much good insight!
