Matt Adams discusses the breaking news regarding the USGA and R&A’s announcement that proposal for Model Local Rule reducing the distance a golf ball can be hit in elite competitions. Matt Adams reacts and we explain.
Athletes in all sports have gotten stronger & faster. Glad these cats aren't in charge of the Olympics or the NFL. They'd have sprinters & wide receivers running in weighted army boots. It will go down as the dumbest sports move of the century. 🤣
Y I u guys are fucking stupid long drivers are not pro golfers if somebody's is swinging 127mph there not going to find ever many fairways USGA you are fucking stupid
None of the Tours, including LIV are going to go along with this. Too many sponsorship and advertising dollars at stake. And if either the USGA or R&A try and strictly enforce this, you'll see a boycott of the U.S. Open and Open Championship by the mid to lesser drivers of the ball.
I have no opinion ATM, there's so much complexity and there's no perfect solution. From the other side of the popular opinion -having no change to the golf ball -the tradeoff will be kicked to entities next in line.
Expanding golf courses is a fortune for the private club and its members for 1 PGA event a year. Is it even economically feasible for an exclusive course to bid for a PGA event?
PGA Championship at Southern Hills the course was a cluster, players ready to hit waiting for others teeing off, waiting for players walking across the fairway, teeing off across other fairways, and made it tough to walk the course and get the best visibility.
Matt, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Shorter hitters will not lose more yardage. Why are you taking a testing standard of 127 MPH and subtracting 115 MPH from it… and then multiplying that by 2.3? That makes no sense at all.

Nope. 14 yards at 127 mph club speed like was said before
Send in the clowns.
Champ already plays with more spin than most. Spin= Control for pros.

Make driver heads smaller for pros. Decrease the MOI.
RISK VS REWARD that way. Leave the balls alone.
Let amateurs continue to use 460cc drivers.
