Reacting to the big news that the #Seahawks have gone big in free agency to sign Dre’Mont Jones! It’s a big, statement signing by Seattle and fills a huge need. A great start to the free agent period!
I saw a Brett Kollmzn video mocking the seahawks draft today. Suggesting no QB with the 5th pick even if they're there and Dorian Thompson in rd 3 pick 87… What do you think of that Rob?
I am so against Jalen Carter being drafted by the Seahawks because I remember the '94 draft.
The Hawks drafted Sam Adams to help Cortez Kennedy. They wanted to draft Bryant Young, but SF traded with the LA Rams, and took Young one pick before us.
I was upset, but still had a lot of hope for Adams. Adams was a good pick, but not the Hall of Famer that Young would become. But what really soured me on him was that I knew a few people that worked for the Seahawks. When Adams was injured in the pre-season, I asked one of them how his injury was coming along. The look that he gave me said so much; he was angry and frustrated. When he finally told me why, he said that he was healed, but was milking his time away from practice.
Adams was a decent guy, after a couple years finally matured, and became a pro bowl player. I wish that he'd done it sooner, but I'm just worried that Carter will follow the same route. Yet we don't know if he will be able to overcome his immaturity. I hope that he does, but I don't want to use a top 5 pick on a possible repeat of Adams with the caveat that he'll be given even more money so he'll lack Adams motivation to eventually become the player that people hoped for.
That does lead me into a question: would you draft Carter in a later round? Obviously a 7th round flyer would tickle me, but what would be the earliest that you would draft Carter? (4th round for me if PCJS know, KNOW that he will compete and not poison the locker room.)
Love your analysis. Agree completely Seahawks have gone out in past signed 3 or 4 players where they were all backups and had to start at least one of them. Love that we get someone who is actually a legit starter that fits the scheme.
I'm feeling Mazi Smith in late first early second. I'd like Adetomiwa Adebawore at 37, but his athleticism and length might put him in first round for some teams. Karl Brooks fits in middle rounds. DE in 3-4 don't have to be 300lb (270 to 285 should be fine, provided they can eat some space, i.e length more important than belly), but a true nose like Mazi Smith would help, and he's an athletic freak.
We do need to make a few big "hits" as you say , 49ers and Rams don, t mess around and unfortunately they will control our division until we show our "teeth". The whole culture of the Hawks has changed since our SB 49 disaster, until we get that "monkey" off our back we will always be looked down on. I don,t care how we do it , this is a good signing, as both lines need bolstering ,then we can sprinkle the goldust around ..keep up the good in-depth reports Rob they are invaluable..
Thanks Rob for the amazing content as always! I feel like the options are pretty clear at 5, QB or Anderson. I’m curious where you see the strength of the draft to be at 20, and what are some position groups that interest you for the hawks.
Thanks Rob, I trust your judgement on qb prospects (amidst many player/position evals for draft but particularly qbs) and your track record has born that out esp last year. I know you did a scenario recently on your website where hawks trade up. What percentage possibility would you give that at this point?

Awesome signing!
Guessing cap hits of $9m in 2023/ $17m in 2024 / $26m in 2025. Basically uses the Shelby Harris cap room.
Would not b shocked by a trade down at 5…. And Ringo at #20… Wr at 37….
Help us out, what is height and weight?

Thanks for all the work, great analysis as always
Always enjoy your videos.
I've been a fan of your content for years and I appreciate your dedication to covering all things Seahawks.

Thanks for everything, Rob.
Go Hawks.
Once again . Jalen Carter or Anderson at 5.
Don't over think it. They absolutely will take Carter.
He's a disrupter
Hargrave went to the 49ers.

Boom!
Im shocked they actually signed a meaningful impact player on day 1 of FA rather than just the usual "sign a bunch of JAGs".
Excited about the signing🎉
Creeping up on that 5k!!! We all know that should be at least 10x higher for the quality content we get brotha! Love this signing too!
Thanks, Rob.
Would you rather have Nolan smith or carter hypothetically if they fall to 20
Great work Rob. Chris from Nottingham.

How many years does Pete have left.
I believe they are trying to make a run but not leave the team in a mess when he moves on.
Win/win
Love the signing!
Dremont is that Nwosu signing we wanted!
Now we need a linebacker to hedge the draft.
Sucks about Zach Allen, but there are still others out there.
