Evan Ferguson was signed a year ago by the Brighton from Irish club Bohemians and was seen as a future prospect but has now been thrown straight into the deep end, and he has not only survived but thrived at the top level.

Earlier in the season at just 18 years old and 76 days, Evan Ferguson became the youngest player to score in consecutive Premier League appearances since Federico Macheda in 2009. Impact.

And just three minutes later, his assist for Solly March made him the youngest player to score a goal and provide an assist in the same match since Michael Owen in 1997. Do you think Manchester United should sign him?

  1. I saw this coming from ages ago, I follow the youth teams around Ireland looking for the next great players (I'm not a scout, I just enjoy finding talent and following their career) and I knew he was talented but did not see him becoming this good lol

  2. Good spot Howson. Well made vid. A bit of me wants us to get him and loan him back so he gets a full season in. Then go get Osimhen and Thuram (latter on a free).

  3. He’s very good player for his age he’s got it all. ETH could mould him into a serious player

  4. He should have had a goal Today against Leeds. He was hauled down but with advantage Brighton got the goal anyway. I absolutely agree with your analysis. He is destined to be a star. Would love to see him playing for Man Utd.

  5. From a non British fan. I do believe that having British and British-Adjacent (Irish, Australian, Canadian, etc) players in the team is important for the club's identity. It's just kind of boring when all the big teams have the same mix of Spanish, Brasilian, Argentinian and French players. Maybe some African guys and a random Portuguese/Eastern European in there. When I started following United most of the team was British, and the other nationalities were what gave it a little spice.

  6. If the Quataris take over. They listed – Youth Development as one of their targets. Evan Ferguson is one such piece of this development jigsaw.
Under the guidance of Ten Hag and Benni. Who knows what this kid could do for United. He would cost nothing, and I am sure would deliver dreams to supporters.
I am Irish and a Bohemians supporter (Evan Fergusons' old club).
Eric should take a chance on this guy; nothing to lose, all to gain.
Why let another club buy him for 8 million and sell him for 38 million in two years. Take a chance Eric… I dare you… Cmon united…👍

  7. Don’t go anywhere near this Ferguson dude until he proves himself 3 consecutive seasons.

  8. I would love to see United get him. He's exactly the type of player we should be in for. Young, with a ton of talent and upside that can still be coached up and molded by EtH and his staff and taken to the next level. Also his price tag would be considerably less than more established stars.

  9. The issue is only one, he's too young meanwhile we need a striker who's already ready for the biggest challenge

  10. Kane and one of Ferguson/Hojlund/Kolo Muani while binning, albeit sadly Martial would be the dream forward line revamp.

  11. Haven’t watched much of Ferguson, I must admit, but dude looks absolutely jacked for 18
But if you had to choose one would it be Ferguson or Sesko

  12. Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable post and for completely swerving politics. Only political comment I’ll make is that you could buy and sell most of the dross on the BBC. If they come knocking, mind you say yes!

  13. he's not 6 foot though. he's between 6 foot 1 and 6 foot 2.
That's why i don't like american metrics. doesn't paint the full picture.
He's 1.88m. I am 183cm/6 foot tall, and my friends who are 1.88m tall feels so much different from me even though it's barely 2 inches more.

  14. Evan Ferguson has been my choice for a couple months now! Really hope we get him!

  15. Do we not have scouts in Ireland? We use to find great players from there, this one got away but hopefully Nick him from Brighton

  16. I would get benzema on a free an buy ferguson let him learn of a world class striker kane good but not world class don't do it big games for me spend the money on other areas.

  17. Irish fans have been tracking Ferguson with excitement for a long time. This guy seems to have it all. Definitely agree he’s the type of signing we used to make…bring the boy in!

  18. I reckon we'd have to pay in the region of 40m at the moment and even then, not sure why Brighton would want to sell.

  19. I would sign him in the summer and then loan him back to Brighton until January or maybe the whole of next season. Give him a full season as the first choice number 9 to show what he can do

  20. As good as he looks at 18 we have Charlie McNeill at the same age. Should we buy someone who blocks his path long term or an older player who is very clearly just a back up?

  21. Would have to be alongside a Kane I don't think you bring in 18 and a 21 year old if it's Oshimen then we don't go for him but if we get Kane would make sense

  22. Couldn’t agree more Stephen, Fergie would go get him in his day. Bohs have another kid James McManus, just seventeen, already being touted the complete midfielder, he’ll be signed over before end of season. Shame to miss him if he goes elsewhere.

  23. As an Irish man, I would love him to sign for manu utd. . but maybe wait a year or two. but his prices will go to the next level.

  24. Sign him up and send him to Dortmund for a year or two on loan, get that European experience in so he comes back to United firing
