I've been trying to imagine what it would have been like watching Kurt Kityama's first putt on #18 finishing hole at Bay Hill, for the win, with music blaring in the background.
Just curious, will the PGAT have a simultaneous tournament somewhere else on the same dates for those who do not qualify for these elevated events? Last week, the Arnold Palmer Invitational was held here in Orlando but there was also the Puerto Rico Open and that seemed to be for those who were not invitees to the Palmer. I suppose that it's something for the non-invitees, but this is definitely somewhat of a caste system: the top players at the elevated event are the Brahmins and those not eligible are simply the Untouchables. IMO, the best part of a PGA event right now is the lower tier player, the unknown or the rookie, coming from out of nowhere to make the cut, challenge for the lead and, maybe, beat some of the top players. But, if there are other tournaments held simultaneously for those not eligible or invited to the elevated events, then it would seem to the casual observer that there are 2 separate PGA Tours. What's the old saying, "The rich get richer?"
that's capp. it is literally two separate tours now. We have PGA top 50, PGA why are you here, and Korn Ferry good enough to beat Tour players but boomers making terrible decision with the echelon of PGA elite.

Compare the top 20 players earnings at the end of 2024 with the the rest…

So i am guesing elevated events dont goet OWGR points since LIV does noe either as an invitation exhibition with no cut? hahahahaha
