This one looks at the TNA iMPACT video game that was released in 2008. iMPACT was developed by Midway Studios just before they went bankrupt, the game was praised for it’s graphics at the time and wrestling fans were impressed with the character models in the game too, but it’s a wrestling video game that doesn’t get much praise today due to how limited it could be in terms of gameplay. The roster featured names like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Abyss, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Eric Young and Sting – and the story mode also transferred into real life when the main character became a real wrestler on TNA progamming.
This video looks at everything TNA iMPACT had to offer including the full story mode.

Doink Hogan definitely isn't Terry Bolea, he has way too many flashy moves. That doesn't work for the Hulkster brother
Wow what a surprise, double jack off put himself in the middle of the TNA game too.
No i love that game more than svr 2008
I have zero recollection of this game for some reason. Really fun to get a look at what it was all about.
This game was awesome but I think is suffered from one thing, smackdown vs raw was just a legendary series so most people were playing that
I initially loved it. Just became really repetitive unfortunately.
Was a great base for a sequel that I don't think we got.
1 thing to note is the PS2 and WII versions do not feature create a wrestler or the BTS videos or match videos and story mode is not as elaborate or long. Those are the 2 versions I own btw
My homeboy had the game on PS3 and surprised me by putting it on to see my reaction 😂 and I was feeling it at first but the short entrances immediately turned me off… I told my homeboy put back the DC Comics vs Mortal Kombat instead 💯
This game was alright compared to also the AAA game that by look like made by the same people I played a lot of those backyard wrestling if TNA wrestling and all those games had a simple control that would have been a lot better
Maybe not as much as Wwe SvR, but i still loved this game as a kid. Getting nostalgic 🥲
I’m still playing WWE 2K13 and have introduced my kid to wrestling via the Attitude mode. A brilliant game. Worth a review.
The greatest menu music ever, with that instrumental of AJs theme
Ds impact lol I never heard of that..I can't wait to see the review
Doink Hogan made me laugh so hard!!
"two player is probably a blast" ooohhh WB that's sad i'll always pick up a controller any time with ya bro lol
Doink Hogan 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
15:03 I’m rollin 😂😂😂
I still can't get over Doink Hogan
Why did Eminem rapping over Christian Cage's TNA theme go that hard tho?
The gameplay buttons were horrible
Even though the game isn't the best, the roster is awesome. Thanks for covering this! Looking forward to the handheld versions!
I always maintained that the animation in the game is absolutely incredible and it took years for the WWE games to catch up. That is the only compliment I can give the game.
First time seeing this game, visually fantastic, but was that the actual story mode? Felt like I was trippin with all that
Wrestling bios is truly for the real pro wrestling fans. I stopped watching it around “the invasion” time because I thought it was stupid and most the WCW stars weren’t involved. Had no idea about TNA until I found this channel couple years ago
So u can say homicide but not suicide . How about genocide?
That "Man named Sue" joke caught me off guard and gave me a hearty chuckle
Is there a mode where he auditions for Metallica?
I remember hearing about this game. I was hyped because I thought this would be like Smackdown vs Raw. Kinda disappointed when I finally got it.
I loved this game and if I remember right the Wii version didnt have the downloadable characters but instead those jobbers were unlocked instead. I always use the clown tagteam as a series threat to tag title matches lol
I hated the fact all special moves caused a pin
The graphics are incredible for 2008!
To believe that TNA could've had the arcade wrestling game side of the video game market
Nope. It was fine but it was BARE!
the game is alright and fun to play like raw vs smackdown series
If you mix the THQ jukkes n64 games with smackdown HCTP then sprinkle a little Def Jam vendetta/fight for NY and a spoonful of impacts graphics and storymode you’ve got the ultimate rasslin game.
TNA Impact was released the same year as SvR 2009, not 2008
I was never a gamer but my younger brother had this game and I beat the story mode and learned the controls well enough to consistently beat him.
Ah yes Doink Hogan, my all time favorite
It was a game that I was willing to buy the sequel of. Fair review.
The list of poor business decisions for TNA Impact is so long and include this in it. Deciding to go with midway games over other companies such as EA and Rockstar is such a shame. I wish they had a better grasp on things behind the scenes they had such a good thing going and there was so much potential!
I remember the controls being really hard and confusing, especially for a 13 year old
Yooooooo where can we get that Eminem/Christian mashup?
"Doink Hogan" 🤣🤣🤣
🔥
Still good looking just clunky
Haha!!! I knew that Hulk Hogan days joke was comin!!! Good one!
Besides the lack of game modes, I really enjoyed playing this game, especially in multiplayer mode with my friends, more so than most wrestling games since then. 3 small details that really always bothered me – 1. that they gave Christian Cage only one taped wrist, and it always confused the hell outta me, 2. that they didn't give AJ Styles any wrist tape, nor gloves, which made him look off, and 3. I really don't know why they wouldn't keep street clothes Kevin Nash as an NPC, and just put the playable Kevin Nash is his signature gear. In such a small roster, it would have made a difference having him as the Big Sexy version of him in the gear he wore in TNA
