The Ping looks great, will attract more golfers.
Im currently using rogue 16.5 and 21 7w, cg location very different… More draw bias and lower spin. Im tempted to go back to ping.
Ping G430 is also ajustable so…
Quite a few brands have strong lofted 3 woods currently which can be a good driver alternative for a lot of golfers – Callaway, Srixon, Taylormade and Titleist all have something. It would make a good review.
I have a 2014 Ping Rapture 13 degree 3 wood and it goes as far as my driver but I couldn’t get consistently as close with a standard 3 wood TSR2+ , Stealth Plus etc look similar
Ping G430 SFT is 19° (+/- 1.5°) a little draw bias, but ajustable also flatter. Ping G430 MAX is 18° neutral, with the same features, the SFT is a fairway finder 178cc compare to 165cc for the MAX.
I have Ping 425 5W and 3W. I will try the 430 but can't justify buying them (have not hit them by the way). I don't mind the "crack" with them when you hit them. If the 430 is much better, they must be really nice, maybe I should not hit them. I don't like gloss tops on drivers/fwy/hybrids. Back when TM had the 300 series drivers, they hit well but sounded like a tissue box hit the ball. Since then, never liked TM. They make good clubs, I just don't like them.
Ping is priced pretty high this year here in Canada 520.00 for a fairway wood…crazy… the Taylormade is 450.00….crazy times are here , I am in need of a 7 wood and I have it narrowed down to these 2 clubs..leaning a bit more to the Taylormade 70.00 less plus i have a bag of mostly steath clubs….cheers from Canada
Which of the two would you say had more draw bias?
I've got a 5 and 7 wood both Sim2 and a 9 wood Stealth. I absolutely love all three of them and just always hit them good. Gives me options on what to put in the bag depending on course and conditions. I'll probably give the Stealth 2 a try but it's going to take a lot to beat my current options.
Just don’t like the sound of ping 😖
Ping I think. The matt top and framing scoring lines appeal to me.
Carden Park andy lol that's the balcony I shouted hi to u from
Andy, how about Tour Edge fair way woods? I have found them to meet the need in a club and the cost factor is a big thing for the average golfer. Mike from Texas!
I love taylormade products I just really wise they would offer adjustable hozzle with the standard stealth options.
Great comparison!
It w/b interesting to see you, Mr Average, compare the Stealth 2 HD 5W to the Stealth Plus 2 5W to see how they differ….
Great channel ! I picked up the G430 5 wood today, I’ve been golfing a year and not yet consistent enough with driver so my golf coach suggested 5 wood and so far I’m loving it’s easy to hit nature and still getting 200+ yards when hit well. Great!
All my woods and hybrids are adjustable so gapping can be helped!
The question surely is are these two clubs £150 better than the Pxg Andy ?
Another great video Andy. I've always been a callaway man but just baught the ping hybrids. You might have convinced me on the fairways now 🙈 . Channel is coming along leaps and bounds mate 👍
Ping for me on looks…
Driver-Ping425, 5 wood- Ping400, 9 wood-Ping425. They work good for me.
QUESTION FOR YA ANDY : do you think i would notice much difference between the Taylormade Stealth 2 standard 7 wood or the HD 7 wood ? one is 21 degrees and the HD is 22 degrees…i currently have the Stealth 3HL wood so i need a next club…. do you think the 5 wood would be too close to my 3HL ? thx Andy I look forward to your opinion…cheers from Canada
Andy what about comparing the new mizuno fairway woods to compare all three, the mizuno are supposed to be just as forgiving if not better. Would love to hear you thoughts?
Andy, great video again. Now you’ve had a chance to test most of the new clubs, I’d be very interested what you’d put in the bag as a brand new set up moving forward 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Also, an6 chance you could test the new PXG ball against the ProV1 and Kirkland 😊
The matte finish is a winner 🥇
Ping
Andy thanks for the review as always to show that the 2 are indistinguishable. Next test will probably be to hit imperfect shots off the woods (heel, toe, top, bottom) to test the forgiveness.
Thanks Andy! Forget 3 woods…. 5 woods are game changers. Gaming a Cobra rad speed 5 wood. Just easy to lunch.
Need ear plugs for the Ping.
I’m getting fitted for driver, and 3, 5, and 7 woods plus a couple of wedges in a few weeks. Currently have 4 year old Titleist TS2 clubs.
Average golfer, premium content
i'll getting the Ping G430 3 wood sft ive already got G425 7 & 9 wood and love them. Nice beanie Andy i've got the same one 🙂
Great video Andy👍👍
Personally, I would always choose PING over TM, but that is purely a brand preference thing. I imagine that a TM fan would have the same preference for the TM product. It's interesting how each brand has a product in a specific category and how similar each product actually performs
While most release video after video chasing clicks smashing the latest drivers, I'm pleased we have a reasoned voice testing these important clubs for the average golfer. Thanks for all that you do 🙂
I'm with you on the looks And, for the same reasons. If only the G430 sounded more like the Stealth …
Didn't you start out the video by saying there minimal differences in drivers but there are in fairways? Not on those figures obviously. I think there is a reason pros tend to keep fairway woods longer than other club. I use a Ping G410 not because I think it is better than other fairways, but because newer ones have demonstrated zero improvement. and because the adjustability of the Ping hosel is even more useful in a fairway (or hybrid) than it is in a driver. I know you get clicks from testing new clubs, but there hasn't been a measurable difference in anything you've tested for yonks. You're able to test and bag the latest and greatest. Has your handicap or scores moved at all?
There we have it. Didn’t expect to see advertisement in your videos. Don’t like it, horrible.
Great video. I also like that ping as it’s adjustable. I like to play upright a little.
TM fairways are always great, but the stock shafts are disappointing. Makes them a tough second -hand purchase. I applaud Ping for designing their own stock shafts, and utilizing quality materials in the builds.
Maybe you could get Hannah from national club golfer to do a video with you, love her swing and she's easy on the eyes also.😁⛳⛳⛳⛳⛳
Always been a sucker for the Ping sound. They also feel very solid. Most confidence inspiring!
Shiny surface of the Taylormade is a no-no for me.
Hi Andy. I have to agree both are amazing from forgiveness point of view. I generally do have a fear from fairway woods. Picked them up for testing and immediately bought the G430 3 and 7 woods. Amazing forgiveness, great distance, very well balanced and easy to hit woods. The white lines on the ping face suites my eyes more.
Loved this video!
think I'm going for the standard stealth 2 fairway 5 wood with a 7 wood length shaft
