They go and get that rookie this year ..we do not pay Goff…because wheb we have the 5th year option on our rookie QB we can fill up the roster for the next 4 years ..then by the end of his contract we can pay the QB top dollar then …that 5th year option is real important look at Philly they got Hurts in the 2nd round and now they have to pay him instead of having another 2 years with his rookie contract
People who keep saying Goff is good for 2 years are wrong. He could ask for a raise after this season and typically QBs don't play on lame duck deals (last year of contract) or franchise tags. The same folks saying draft defense wanted Isaiah Simmons in the Jeff Okudah draft… They should've took Justin Herbert. But hindsight is 20 20. I hope this front office doesn't make the same mistake.
Move down from 6 if one of the 4 QB’s are still on the board with a team desperate for a QB ? Get my some draft Capital and take the best available defensive player than grab a run crushing guard at 18…

Are you kidding me? You want to look at draft stats, then look no further to how many 1st rd qb’s bust compared to how many succeed. The Lions are in a unique situation. The LA Rams literally paid us to take gold from them in exchange for Stafford. We stole the Rams staying power and added draft picks.
Get Gonzalez at #6 trade up and get Anthony Richardson. Only if Carter or Anderson is not at #6
Anthony Richardson don't have to sit on the bench his first year we can use him as another weapon a rb and also still use goff while developing Richardson

I think anything other then te or oline is a plus for us… drafting a qb and sitting him behind goff is securing our future drafting a rb (b rob) would make our offense so unstoppable the defense can be below average and still win games..For the first time in my history of the lions we cant go wrong bolster the offense we'll lead the league in scoring bolster our defense we get a few extra stops to win games … Go lions 🦁 👏

In a weird spot gonna be our best opportunity this yr to get a franchise QB unless goff gets injured we won't see another top 10 pick based off our record for a LONG time but in same aspect goff was a easily a top 10 QB in last half of season and now he'll have jamo all season this yr

“I’m not looking to waste draft picks here, to just pick a QB to just pick a QB”…. Except you actually are for 2nd straight year. You can’t live down wanting Malik Willis at #2 last season and now calling for Richardson at 6 and a RB at 18. The Lions window is now, the Lions didn’t miss the playoffs because of their offense but yea let’s take a project QB who was bad at every metric in college, then take a RB at 18 which is the most replaceable position in football with the shortest shelf life. Get this guy off the air already.

I think you have to be nuts to risk the #6 overall pick on a position that you are very likely going to miss on when the Lions already have a franchise, Quarterback. The only way to upgrade that position with a sure thing would be to trade Goff and picks for someone like Lamar Jackson but I personally don't want to hand Jackson who gets hurt $50M a season. The Lions need to draft the best defensive player they can at pick #6 or better yet trade back from pick #6 and get some draft capital for this and next year's draft from a QB-needy team. If the Lions were a three-win team in total rebuild mode that is when you swing for the fences on a player like Richardson to build around in my opinion.
Deep corner draft, take one at 18 or in the 2nd round. Lots of edge rushers and TE's also with high grades. Pick 6 is a wildcard because of who will be available and what offers Holmes can drum up
I’ve been saying this for months. If Goff wants to be keep his career on a upward hike he would take a team friendly deal. That’s the only way he stays and we don’t draft a QB. I’m sure Brad and him had this convo 100xs

This is a slap in the face to Goff. Qb right now in the first round won’t help us win now. Goff has played amazing and if he plays good again this season now u jus have wasted a pick. Get a qb in later rounds and keep building this team.
