Eyssimont for Namestnikov was a questionable deal to begin with, but getting a 4th rounder (in 3 years, no less) out of him makes it even worse. Eyssimont would've been a fantastic depth forward for the Sharks. Grier dropped the ball on that one.
One trade you missed is Calgary traded Radim Zohorna to Toronto for Dryden Hunt. Pretty small trade but one interesting thing about it is that if Hunt scores a goal for Calgary he'd be the first player in NHL history to score atleat 1 goal for 4 different teams in a single season.
What does Yzerman know about the next 3 draft years that NO ONE else seems to know?
You're gambling, Stevie.
So Jonathan Quick wanted to be moved to a contender just to be the third string goalie and never play? strange
The 2nd round pick Minnesota got for greenway is from the eichel trade lol
Nashville also retained 4% of ekholms contract. That actually allowed edm to add bjugstad ..talk about flush 😅
The Wild had a great trade deadline, I still don't really understand the Mojo trade. I would've rather seen them go for brock boeser or ryan o'reilly, but I guess we will see how the rest of the season goes. I think Billy G likes Swedes
The Wild did really well!
Greenway is actually scared to hit
So I get this has nothing to do with the video and is a stupid little gripe, but why do some ppl pronounce Vegas as "Vagas", though? But anyway…lol
The Sabres 2nd rounder is actually the Vegas pick from the Eichel trade. So it will be a late 2nd rounder. The Sabres still have two other 2nd rounders in 2023.
So you can include Greenway as a return too from the Eichel Deal. Tuch, Krebs, 2022 1st rounder Kulich and now Greenway.
So many crazy trades
Tidy Business
The Sabres 2nd round pick for Greenway is from Vegas not Buffalo.
at this point im starting to believe arizona enjoys hoarding picks rather than getting actual players , so they can tell their fans 'look look we're doing something' without actually doing anything
Unless Arizona is planning on trading a BUNCH of those picks for actual players, it's the dumbest thing a team can do.
Lehner? Injured
Brossoit? Injured
Logan Thompson? Injured
Adin Hill and Jonathan Quick are your goalie tandem for the rest of the regular season, Thompson probably comes back for the playoffs.
Greenway really is that good at defense or that physical tbh
Nick Ritchie not an NHL caliber skater?….. HOW IS THIS A GOOD TRADE?!
we need a history of Arizona trading for dead cap guys. Recently I know they received Weber's contract, Zetterberg's contract, and a few more. Very interesting that Arizona does this so often.
fake thunb nail funny ,,ur blocked
Sharks also picked Eyssimont off waivers from Jets, so Jets pretty much spent a 4th and Eyssimont on Namestnikov… nice one Chevy.
You were my go to for trade deadline updates. You do a great job. I would love to see a “way too early trade deadline winners and losers for both buyers and sellers”. Blues fan here and I am so happy with this trade deadline on an underwhelming performance year to say the least. Even with my team out, this has been fun.
2023
As a Senators Die hard watching our team get traded away and being a league punchline, it sucked. But oh boy was it worth it…
Now introducing your 2030 Stanley Cup champion Coyotes
I'd like to emphasize the "dead" part of deadline at least for the actual day. The only positive was having a paid day off from work. As a Penguins fan, I would have taken Rutherford's high-risk gambling trades than Hextall's sit on your hands until the 11th hour approach. Did he do the asme when he went to buy Christmas gifts for his kids and do all his shopping on Christmas Eve?
I think the Kings got what they needed in the Jackets deal, though sadly they are rentals pretty much for now. I don't expect us to win the Cup this year but Korpi and Gavri should be nice additions, and overall the team just needs more playoff experience.
My man Ny said "Deneen" when it's "dih-neen lmaooooo love ya Ny
Yeah this Trade Deadline was a bummer.. I guess that’s what happens when every player is traded before
Vrana deal seems similar to the Fabbri deal a while back. Basically shipping a guy out to give him a fresh start for limited return to move the contact and do the player a solid.
By how things were going down, I thought the deadline was Wednesday lol
Wow
I'm sad to see greenway go, but he just wasn't producing like we needed him too, so I understand it.
How does Chuck Fletcher have a job still?
Curtis lazar solid on the pk lol??? He legit fucking blew for the Canucks in that role. I love the guy and want him to do well but he was not that guy
the 2nd round pick buffalo gave is VGK;s and will be in the later half of the draft so its essentially like a 3rd most likely
I think Az is a laugher, unless you look at what they can do with then picks. There are many teams looking to unload players on contracts made to sign RFAs or trade RFAs for draft picks. With number of draft pick that they do have, half of them can be flipped for roster players on teams looking to get out of contract to make space for key players looking for raises. If the owner allows the GM to surround the talent that they do have, many teams need to stock pile the prospect pool, Bruins, Pens and Caps come to mine. If successful on putting a product on the ice, they may even attract the home town guy like Mathews, that will be looking for a raise that the Leafs can't afford and a Cup they couldn't give him
Arizona sounds like me when I play Franchise Mode 😂
I’m happy the JVR trade to Detroit didn’t happen.
Greenway was playing really bad this year, a 2nd rounder looks like robbery with how he was playing.
Maybe the blues got Vrana for so cheap cause Detroit owes STL for the Leddy trade last year 😅😂 (kidding)
I actually think that Quick will be the backup in the playoffs. He is very much a big stage performer, and I would not be surprised if he steals Thompsons spot in case he falters
You never fail to disappoint keep up the good work 🎉
I miss Vrana already
Greenway doesn’t fight fyi,
Greenway definitely doesn't fight at all.
Don’t know if you know but that 2nd rounder the Wild got for Greenway is Vegas 2nd round pick not Buffalos.
