In today’s video, Dan is undergoing a fitting process from Titleist Ball Specialist, Tom Hiscock. When it comes to choosing the golf ball that you will play week in, week out, price is super important. Today we will be testing the performance golf ball offerings from Titleist, which all try to offer different characteristics, at different price points.

In the winter you lose every type of ball !!! Marketing at its best ! Cheap soft ball will do at any time of the year for the a averidge golfer !
Well you wouldn't want to use a Velocity ball on a links course🤯. But useful to see the cheeper side Dan👍
Taylormade tour response get onnthem fantastic balls 👏
If I was titleist fan boy I'd play the tru feel all day long nothing in it for god sake for weekend handicappers
Ball fitting is a must, but in saying that I have only ever had one in 45 years of playing. Tom obviously knows his product and specs for Mr Average. Good video Dan and interesting subject.👍
I think a discussion on swing speed versus ball would have been interesting. I am 67, coming off a back nerve issue and rehabilitation. I won't be able to turn like I did in the past. But the Velocity may work for me.I will try it when I am cleared to swing again. Cheers from Texas as always. 🤠🏌️⛳
Tour soft for me Dan since Ashburnham 2 years ago
I started playing the Velocity based your past recommendation. I understand the spin concerns but I don’t notice anything that is impacting performance. But then again I’m not a scratch golfer and id’s those nuances.
The one crucial factor that your test ignored is how soft the Greens are where you play your Golf.
Where I play (NW England, Parkland Courses) for 10 months of the year Greens are as soft as a Bakewell pudding, so Premium high-spin Balls offer no greater stopping power than a high-launch lower spinning Ball. The only time that a Premium Ball is required is during a dry summer when the Greens are baked as hard as Blackpool rock (but not as sticky).
the issues i have with these ball fitting is1. ive never seen one available for joe public to attend. ive seen inline fitting but you have to be brutally honest for the the fitting plus hiw accurate can it be. 2. the average golfer does not strike the ball consistanly enough for an accurate fitting .
How Titleist can claim any of their balls have a “Great Price Point” is beyond me – Slazenger soft feel – try them 👍😍
just an advertisement…..
Question…if you had the ability to do so, why didn't you record the data outside rather than inside?
kirkland signature kicks but for performance and price, 1/4 of the price of titleist which are way too expensive due to the name
Always use the same ball they say………don’t mind us redesigning them each year🤔👀
In the winter when the ground is wet you can play with a stone it's gonna stop , I've always used soft feel srixon in the wet and save money , in the summer I used kirkland signature urethane cover and a 1/4 of the price of pro v s , if money was no object or I got my balls for free then ofcause I'd use pro v s , great vlog ty 🏌️♂️⛳️👍
I play Kirkland’s good ball and excellent value. I did just buy the Velocity ball, used it for 3 holes and changed it – was like hitting a rock hated the feel, played the Tour Soft before there good 👍🏻
Just add the Velocity we’re in matte blue colour – you can’t see them!
Great review def gonna give the velocitys a try this year
Looks like you had a young tom kite doing the fitting.
The problem is with this (and any ‘just’ sub premium range) is they really aren’t that far off the premium products on a per ball price. For example… Is someone really going to spend £3.33 for a Tour Speed when they could choose a £3.75 Pro V1 (not even 50p more) and no need to explain why you haven’t got the top range that has a ‘winners’ reputation As golf is often a snobbish game it’s hard to justify explaining why you chose the fractionally cheaper ball regardless of personal performance. I can see the appeal of a £2 ball (TruFeel and really Velocity) but when you’re in the range of 75p a ball off what the pros play then I don’t see anyone buying the sub pro level. I have generally come to own these sub premium balls in the gifting market, on society events, prizes or custom branding. I appreciate you’re a Titleist ambassador, but unless pros start choosing other balls regardless of price, followers will carry on aspiring to be good enough for ‘pro’ balls. It’s aspirational to show you need it and can tell the difference.
Christ I'll bet he's thrilling conversation over a pint in his local boozer 😴
There’s a lot better value performing balls then those Titleist. I’ve been using RZN tour balls, £22 a dozen
Used to play tru feel
Had a fitting and gone q star tour which has changed my game considerably
I use a combo of tru-feel, velocity and tour speed
The velocity’s I use in winter for extra carry in the wet conditions
Tru-feel I use in the spring and autumn when I want more control spin around the green
Tour speed I use in the summer or on holidays to warm places I.e Turkey.
For the all round control as I make most of my scores pitching n chipping close, so like a ball that reacts the way I want it too.
And another good thing with these balls and their price range(s) it’s not so bad when you peg a new one up n then wave goodbye to it first hit as it leaves the course or goes in that never to be found again hedge/bush, lake lol.
I've been using TruFeel for around 6 months and now I won't use anything else. Love em 😊
How good is the bloke in the background flicking up the balls with a wedge into the bag!
I don't use the word value in golf much but I've used the Solo and now trufeel for a long time and can be bought for less than £20 a dozen on bulk buy. I maybe lose a couple of yards with the driver over a premium ball. The less grip on shorter shots is true…but actually having a bit less stop can make you learn to be creative in short game play…lower budget golf balls are amazing these days
Ballfitting is overrated unless you are good enough to have a consistent strike.
And if you loose a ball every other hole just go a buy florida balls.
When the strike is more consistent the best way to find a ball that works for you is to play and just see.
If you want new balls but cheap and good nothing beats a kirkland. Sure it isn't as good as a premium ball but you get 24 balls for around 1£ per ball. Can't beat that price for what you get. They aren't as long as a pro v1 but they are 1/5 of the price.
