On Kentucky basketball Senior Night, the Wildcats were beaten in the closing seconds by the Vanderbilt Commodores, falling 68-66 as Jordan Wright hit a fadeaway jumper from the free-throw line to give Vandy the lead late. Despite losing Cason Wallace early in the second half to injury, the Wildcats overcame an 11-point deficit to nearly squeeze out the win, but simply missed too many shots throughout the game.

Kentucky shot just 32 percent from the field and an even worse 16 percent (3-16) from beyond the arc. The ‘Cats managed to make 25 free throws on the night but also missed 10 of them — seven coming after halftime. Vanderbilt received 23 points from Wright and 21 more from Tyrin Lawrence. Kentucky’s Antonio Reeves had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but his contested triple fell well short. He finished with 14 points on 4-17 shooting.

  1. They. Played. AWFUL. I'm surprised they didn't lose by 15. O well. Still like this team. They're pretty good. I'm pretty sure 15 percent behind the arc and 30 ish from the field. Thanks goodness for Oscar or they'd been obliterated…

  2. Injury's happened especially when you are playing 40 minutes a game I knew it was just a matter of time before one of our starters would get hurt because of all the minutes played just a crap show tonight had everything to play for and just stunk it up it's going to be another short post season hoping that I will be wrong but don't think that I will be

  3. So lucky to have watched 78..96…98…12…might not see another one…it's rare to win the big one

  4. I disagree guys, this will screw their seeding and they will not make any sweet sixteen scenario, ain’t going to happen. Don’t expect too much because if you do you will be disappointed

  5. What you saw tonight was a case of just flat out being out coached. The boys played a poor game but you have to give them credit. They fought. Oscar was incredible. This team just can’t focus without a point guard.

  6. No way should Vandy be beating us both at Rupp and Kroger Field. If you subtract our 7 wins over Vandy in Football, Mark Stoops is 25-50 in SEC games after bein here a whole decade. And now South Carolina and Vandy are whippin us in Lexington. This is not acceptable. Stoops is 33% in SEC Games. He's got to go and please take "no offense" Cal with ya Mark. We have made you guys filthy rich men and you are running are Football and Basketball teams into the ground. Please Mitch, do what's right. Your good men, fire Mark and Cal and then do whats right, resign. Enjoy your millions but we deserve better here. We are tired of you guys beatin up cupcakes and now your even loosin to cupcakes. We need new leadership. Coaches who can win in the SEC. We need coaches that specialize in Offense.

  7. I don't expect a W at Arky. 20-11. Base case win one game at SEC and lose one. 21-12. I don't think that's necessarily a team that should make the tourney. Cal gets one last shot next year.
