The Certified Fitters at Golf Galaxy use launch monitor data to make sure you have the proper shaft, loft, weight, launch angle, spin rate and clubhead speed to help lower your score.

“With today’s technology, it’s never been more important for you to get fit for your driver,” Trimber says. “I urge you to come in and get fit so that you optimize your launch conditions and maximize your driving distance.”

  1. Never had a fitting before. I’m assuming you bring your current club for a baseline first? I’ve been messing with my Taylor Made r11s for a few years now, adding custom made weights to try and made the heel heavy enough to help with my tendency to leave the face open and slice it. I’ve improved on that driver to where I hit it straight or a slight fade now, but it’s adjustability is set all the way to as anti slice as possible still and I know I’m for sure losing out on a lot of distance wasted with my swing speed, have no idea what it is but I know it’s gotta be well over 100. Do these fittings find the perfect combination of driver head, settings, shaft model and flex or do they just go with something they think will work and then adjust it until you get the best result with that driver? Because I want to find the right driver head for me as well as the right shaft and settings to boot. I also don’t want to spend a ton of money on a fitting and then be told the best driver for me is this custom made one that costs like $600. Does a fitting credit towards the club price if you decide to purchase the club you’ve been fitted for? I’d love to go in and get fitted for a proper driver and not have to spend more than around $500 max if possible. Also is there such a thing as a putter fitting? I mean I’d love to get a Scotty Cameron but there’s so much customization with those that I would have no idea what I’d want and what would feel and work best for me.

  2. Received horrible service by an employee @ golf galaxy who didn’t care I was there to spend upwards of $2500+ on a new set. So I set a full fitting (irons, driver, putter) appointment for a fitting then left. I left because it was what the employee wanted the whole time I was in there. Don’t feel bad they’ll have 3 empty non billing hours when I don’t show up. Club Champion appointment set, I’ll be sure to make it that one.

  3. I’ll never go back. They had big signs on pants and shirts 50% off. I picked $90 pair of pants expecting to pay $45. They rang up $100. I ask and he said i had to read the fine print on the sign. I said I dont want them, and paid for other items. No other customers in line so I ask if he could walk over there and show me which ones were 50%. His reply ” well actually none of them are”. I ask for the manmanager, his reply ” there’s no one here I can even ask, It’s just what they do to get people to look at the clothes”
