Watch as Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane appears to score a ridiculous slap shot buzzer beater in OT against the Vegas Golden Knights, although after review it was determined the clock had expired before the puck crossed the goal line.

  1. It should be like with basketball, where the goal counts as long as the shot itself is taken before the time runs out (with the shot going directly into the goal and no deflection). I think lacrosse has that rule as well.

  2. The clock on the broadcast must have been wrong, cuz the puck was in the back of the next with .01 left.

  3. Should be that if the shot is on the way it counts, puck went in with less than 1/100th of a second expired, takes longer to blink. Leave it to Kane to do the unthinkable.

  4. I expect nothing less from Kaner!! A hall of famer already. Go get another Cup in Dallas young man!! Thank you for the 3 you won with the Hawks!

  5. No clock overlay from the overhead shot? I call shenanigans. Puck was clearly in the net with .1 left from the broadcast angle.

  6. I'm not sure how the rules work in hockey, but if you freeze the video at 1:07, you can clearly see it's in the net with .1 second remaining. Does it need to be in for a full second before time expires to count? Seems odd to me they'd take this away when it was called a goal in real time.

  7. As a Golden Knights fan I wish it would have counted. it was one of the best slap shots of the year and the timing was incredible. I was not happy when it happened but respected how amazing it was after I watched it again. Great unstoppable shot by Kane.

  8. He beats the time. Stayed 00.1 s The time is not expired. The problem is that the light of buzzer become green before that the puck across the goal line. The buzzer and the clock should be end at the same time.

  9. Hockey needs to adopt the basketball rule. As long as the puck is off your stick before the horn it should count. Just like as long as a shot is off the shooters hands in bball. Ridiculous.
