  1. I thought your video with John Erickson explained it well when he demonstrated the importance of “pressuring the shaft” steadily during the swing to deliver the most energy to the ball. It makes sense that you have to know how to both load the shaft and not unload it too soon and then try to “get it back” as you say in this video. I think a lot of golfers let the slack occur because they are not good at getting separation so that lower body is working left as upper body is still turning back. If the lower body is late or “matched up” with the upper body, you will have slack.

  2. Hi Brendon. You’ve been around amazing coaches but seem to struggle to incorporate everything they’re teaching. I watched your videos during the Milo school episodes and I don’t think you were doing the exercises right. The goal was to do an almost infantile basic motion but you kind of wanted to incorporate your personal swing into it. Doing so kept your bad habits and prevented learning the basic motions. I think you need to approach as a person learning the swing for the first time and keeping the motions very basic to the point of not adding extra athleticism.

  3. You look more in control with the 3/4 Swing you were talking about Eric saying you were all over the place with your back swing. 3/4 swing doesn’t appear that way.

  4. It looks to me that you’re not keeping a consistent width in your triangle. When that breaks down a bit you then get a little wristy, guiding it into the slot.
But what about Arnold Palmer and others who say whatever works. Your way isn’t necessarily wrong; it might be right for you. You hit it okay don’t you? Maybe you’re too critical, looking at it too much. You certainly don’t want to develop paralysis by analysis or yips and whatnot. Be careful.

  5. Have you ever just walked upto the ball and just put a swing on it. I think( with respect) you, way over ,overthink things.

  6. Hey brotha, I had a vision that one day on this awesome quest of acquiring and sharing knowledge of the golf-swing, that you will stumble across knowledge of what's King in golf. Impact, aka strike. Once I realized it's what I do with the club face that is most important, my game changed forever. I do believe there's absolutely more to it than just that but it's definitely something not to lose focus on and blending in with your tool box.

  7. I’m following you now for a while and I just watched earlier videos – I have no explanation why is it😢 possible that you have so many lessons and you are still not doing what the teachers are telling you to do ? I have just scanned and tracked your swing and you are still coming over the top – should I even try to get better at golf if you can’t figure it out in 10 years having spent so much money in golf lessons —- what is your advice – I was just getting ready to get the harness and than realized it does not do a thing —- I’m confused

  8. You said you liked comments, I try to just put my observations in the comments, so here goes. With your Compressor swings, it looks like you are taking it inside more than with a regular club, it could be due to the bend angle in the club shaft, not sure but look at those swings and see what you think, also with your sons swings, he looks great and I am sure you will teach him well.

  9. Still coming down over that plane line. Keep working at it, eventually it will click 💪🏼

  10. Brendon, that flexibility you demonstrate at 8.00 tells you where your swing should be. Go with it. Fred Couples bends his right elbow a lot, if your swing is loose and smooth it will work. You will stiffen up when you are my age.

  11. Watching your full swings, you're steep coming down from the top. Your slow swings were better but in my view need more exaggeration to get the feeling correct.

  12. When I'm having an 'off-day'' on the course I'll often revert back to just hitting push-cuts all day (Lee Trevino style). Its a reliable method…

  13. I still think you issue with full swing is your hands and arms are not in front of you at end of backswing. They are behind you and you can’t do anything but stall and throw

  14. Padraig Harrington gives in paddys golf tips an idea where he has the feeling of stopping at impact which causes clubhead and the arms take of from the body. That feeling also makes the core brace , almost the feel of stopping even if you are not. Check it out. I found it helpful to get shaft lean as well.

  15. How about trying DST compressor along with the gem using waffle balls. I think you may get some interesting feedback. Thanks again for great content,

  16. Use the Laws of Spinal Motion to improve your spinal loading. This will allow you to load the club correctly through better awareness of rotation through the grip. Good luck on your journey

  17. Brandon I agree with slowing the backswing down I heard Leadbetter say he looks at a persons backswing to see if he is good or not so what I have done is make sure I hit the backswing like Mike Malaska said that Joe Nichols taught him with the butt turned down to the ground but the key for me is also when I hit that spot my right hand is turned or palm towards the hole back hand pointed straight back then I heard Rory Mcilroy say he gets his knees out of the way so backswing right knee back downswing left knee back this keeps you in great balance throughout the swing . A huge key which you touched on having some tension where it’s not too loose with the shoulders , hands , and I suggest you watch James Robinson with Pete Cowen video so when I get the backswing to the stand up position like Malaska said Joe Nichols point I start twisting my hands in the opposite direction
( Pete Cowen said) up til the backswing then down to impact and let it go massive power and great consistency. I have always looked at Louie Oosthuizen as a model I wanted to copy and finally feel balanced . Milo is a great guy but that movement of the body going with the hips on the downswing is way to hard on the body and for me my hips go way to forward and I get shanks and weak right shots all day but for younger players it probably works but I look at pga players now and old time golfing greats and nobody did that .

  18. I think you need to stop listening to what golf coaches are telling you and start figuring out what works for you. The tensionless swing is a feel THEY feel, but watch what Rory McIlroy stated about his grip pressure, it is not loose, it is firm. A lot of tour pros have way simpler motions than all the golf swing "gurus" are teaching to get views and customers. Their right hip goes back, then the grip moves down not out, and then their left hip moves out of the way. Watch Athletic Motion Golf for their hand path videos, it is much simpler than people think.

  19. As Milo says, I’m hyper flexible. So it’s extremely easy for my swing to get long. If I have a quick backswing I get even longer. Recently I’ve been trying a much slower backswing and almost pausing at the top. Not really losing distance, probably because my quality of contact comes up. I think golf gets too structured on what you “have to do” and needs a bit more of finding what works for an individual.

  20. Seems similar to the popular concept of a wide takeaway… keeping your hands away from your body.

  21. I love that you covered this topic – I feel like Gumby as well sometimes – ultimately I feel the takeaways to this is “width”…having with in the backswing, downswing and follow through helps take the slack out. Structure in the arms with soft oily wrists also helps stay loose and take out slack

  22. Cue-up the comments about not working with so many instructors and or not having learned from instructors in the past BLA BLA BLA…He's in it for the money, DAH ! Ever hear of killing the 'The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs' ??

  23. You misinterpreted “swinging left “ .”Swinging left” is NEVER a goal but a result of two moves .
    1. Continuous rotation of the rib cage
    2. the right elbow being on and in front of the right hip at impact .
In all of your swings in the above video your ribcage is square at impact

Swings longer than your 9-3 swing contains the 9-3 swing .
If your slow 9-3 swings are flawed , it is guaranteed that your longer swings will contain similar flaws plus any additional errors created with a longer swing . Forget about all of your contradictory swing thoughts and think SIMPLER
If you wish to improve , you MUST practice ONLY 9-3 swings hitting balls around 50-75 yards . Only after you are consistently compressing the ball with good ball flight with the 9-3 swings , you can advance longer swings. This may take months , but it will eventually pay off , unlike your current program

  24. If you are wanting to remove as much “slack” from your golf swing as possible then simply implore the PUSH-PULL grip from address. That is to slightly push down the shaft with the right hand while simultaneously pulling up the shaft with the left hand. Learn to maintain this FEELING throughout your entire swing. You will almost immediately begin to have a conscious sense for where the butt-end of the club is pointing throughout your entire swing too. Get rid of that contraption you devised.

As far as being able to maintain the feeling of the club head throughout your entire swing you can also use the Bobby Jones Drill. That being that you learn to slightly open the last three fingers of your left hand as your backswing approaches transition, then essentially allowing those last three fingers to re-tighten as the club head moves through impact. This Bobby Jones Drill will help to give you a definite sense or feel as to EXACTLY where the club head is throughout your entire swing. Stop attempting to fixate the exact “sweet spot” location in your mind. What you most want is the ability to feel the weight of the club head throughout your entire swing, and then attach the weight of the club head to you LEFT HIP AREA. This is the ABSOLUTE 100% BEST WAY TO ACHIEVE TRUE ACCELERATION!!! Yes, you are GUIDING the club head into the ball with THE LEFT HIP!!! Believe me, you will discover the SWEET SPOTin a way you never expected. P.S. Your son looks like he was blessed with that special “gene.” Best of luck.

  25. Hey Brendon thanks again for all the vids. I was watching some old videos of yours and watched one with you and Dan Martin I think the title was drive it like a pro and he also was picking up on you having too much slack in the system at certain points of your swing so I think your on to something with your swing good luck brother. I wish we all could swing like Milo it looks so loose and effortless but for me that makes me feel so out of control

  26. Been watching you since the Monty days…..do you ever think you have too many lessons and too many different swing thoughts
    I had many lessons myself….and wish I hadn't…..

  27. I looks like they raised the net at B. Rec.? When we were younger, our drives were always going into the BB field parking lot.
