  1. I had a massive breakthrough the other day just swinging my club at shoulder height emulating a baseball/rounders swing but with a focus on a square clubface. I noticed I was naturally getting the hip/body movement and weight shift I had been obsessing over in my golf swing. When I inclined the plane of the arc, gravity came into play and I was 'working' the ground to whip the club face through at the bottom. When I put this into my golf swing, it was a completely different (natural) sensation to what my swing was before and everything just fell into place. All the positions happened naturally, my swing shallowed, the finish was far better, and the speed at impact increased massively. Just thought I'd share for others as it's something that's really easy to practice.

  2. Excellent, Russell. So many YouTube pros teaching that the lead arm stays close to the body and we have to rotate the body hard to get speed. I love that high arms follow through like the old pros. Much easier on the body. Hand release happens, arm release is a preferable option.

  3. What an excellent video. I've watched so many videos and studied so much, but really struggled to understand why my distance was there sometimes and not others. I'd assume it was a technique issue or a tempo issue and therefore work on it only worsening the problem bc I get stuck in posture. I couldn't really feel or see what was wrong bc things look/feel the same! This video describes me perfectly and really makes me feel a bit dumb for not getting to this conclusion quicker. You're told the arms don't really matter so long as the lead arm is straight and all that, but they do! Wide arc, good tempo and good sequencing delivers more results than more rotation does for a hack like me!!

  4. Short arms and obese body equals narrow swings and fat contact. Where is the sign-up sheet for the Hit-It-Fat Tournaments? Improvement is no longer a goal it's become fat-shot-management. It's difficult to measure the distance on a fat iron shots…how far should a fat seven iron travel?

  5. I seem to have decent distance with clubs 7 and down (7 goes around 165/170 carry) , but I really struggle with long irons, also my driver goes around 230 carry and feel I should be able to hit it further.

  6. Would I adjust the up/down feeling into a wider, flatter arc for the driver? Or is pretty much the same feeling?

  7. It seems that you are teaching rotating the shoulders as opposed to the hips. I doubt that's your point. I guess I would have to have my pro explain what I am missing.

  8. I hate when they start with this; this is what I see from other golfers. Just give the lesson. We know what crapy golfers hit like because you're talking to us.
