  1. Tour tempo wrote a book on this 20 years ago 3/1 ratio John novasal I believe he’s very long also in his 50s I thought u hung out with him 😊

  2. This reminds me of Sybervision Golf from the 80's. It was designed as Neuro-Muscular programming to visually watch a very good swing on repeat to a soundtrack with a specific metronome beat to it.

  3. Appreciate the research. Saw your short where you were bowing and "casting" with the driver and was waiting for a video on that. What were you doing there? Was that on a previous video that I missed or something coming? Reminds me of Larry Cheung's downhinge move so I'm interested in more on that.

    Keep it up man.

  4. Take your left thumb off the grip. The club face won’t turnover. Please do this and put us all out of our misery 😀

  5. Lol this kinda funny! It reminds me of when your at a gym working out and there’s someone doing air karate in front of the nitro! Your kinda that guy on the range… and I agree with actually warming up before you hit balls but it could be done a whole lot better if you just keep a couple of bands in your bag and go thru something similar to what Drew Cooper put you guys thru at your BBG school… then work with something like a tempo tool like the golf sling shot or a light speed bomber from Mach 3 and then basically run thru some of Milo’s 1s&2’s and then just increase the turn and stop holding off the face… anyways good content BBG

  6. Hey mate, I am a golfer and professional drummer for over 20 years…

If you ever want to talk metronomes and the connections between a playing concerts and pressure situation golf, I can give you some good insights.

I teach my daughter who is a golfer too .

    Cheers bud

  7. thanks for helping me discover “the gem”! the feedback from this awesome device has helped my golf swing tremendously!

  8. This is one of your best videos ever. Truly. It confirms why activating our proprioceptors is critical; why so many times it takes us 4-5 holes to start swinging well; why so many of us play better walking the course instead of riding in a cart; the part about tempo; getting heart rate up; and ingraining the feeling of getting to our left side before we hit shots. Tremendous. Bravo!

  9. This is great. I saved this video to incorporate this into my practice routine. I think a lot of us who are truly trying to improve and are students of the game, feel like we’re on the journey with you. Thank you!

  10. i will go back tomorrow to hit at least 120 balls.
i escaped hitting gap waedges and wedge …
i mess up my drive and woods.

  11. Brendon; I don’t feel that way any more. But my principles are better now. And what about Milo’s swing style? Why not try that? You are sort of doing that, nice and bent over like Trevino. I cannot do that because my knees are shot, so I swing more like Nicklaus. But also you can remember your rotating double pendulum swing idea. What happened to that video? Can you give me a link?

  12. I find inhaling a large dose of narcissistic personality disorder and washing that down with a glass of Dunning-Kruger effect for breakfast …means I always have the best experience. At least on the first tee. 😎 🥛 ⛳️ 4 👌

  13. Tricking the concise mind with a non-golf specific swing thought eg listening to a beat gives the unconscious mind a chance to swing naturally. I've tried a lot of these but what worked for me are simple sentences around picking targets or the shot shape.

  14. Brendon, I always wondered if there was a missing piece to the puzzle when trying to play or improve at golf.
I have concluded that if one learns to play golf as a kid, they have a high level of advantage over learning as an adult. Kids "swing"; adults tend to "hit". Keep investigating the mental side!

  15. I love your videos. It's obvious that you put a lot of thought into them, particularly compared to the typical "Break 80 in just 79 swings" videos that dominate the web.

  16. Why so much doubt in the first place? You don't question how well you're going to drive your car that day because you know how to do it. If you're constantly questioning yourself you'll never get better. You have to believe you're good and then just play – sometimes within your ability and sometimes beyond to test your limits. If you pull it off, great, if not, now you know.
Imagine if every day you got on a bike and wondered if you can ride it that day …
Now that I think about it, you have a point. For most people the golf club is like a slot machine. Because they don't truly understand how it works it's a mystery and they never know if it will pay off or not on any given day. The slot machine effect can be reversed when you know how the club actually works.

  17. Your tenacity in this journey is inspiring! Just wondering if you're aware of the ZEN Golf Mechanic channel. It seems to me it's pretty opposite of all the technical stuff I usually see on yours – might be an eye opener. If you get a lesson from Marcus in England I'd love to see the video!

  18. good stuff here … lag the sweet spot using the proper grip/weight transfer/rotation/posting/pivot

  19. Enjoyed this video. Interesting content. I remember purchasing a phone app called, possibly, Tour Tempo or Swing Tempo that acted as a golf swing metronome giving different swing tempo’s to find your best rhythm. Had different tempo’s for short, mid and long irons as well as driver swings, pitch shots and greenside shots, if I remember correctly. Found it very useful at the time.

  20. You should do some more on this topic – it’s so effective as a training aid. You’ll need a 123123123123 rhythm. Waltz time like the Blue Danube. When I first used a metronome (I’m a musician so was used to it’s application) I was so surprised as I slowed down the metronome my length and distance got longer. I found the best rhythm for me was a waltz ( triplets) at 54 bpm for a full swing. So beep beep beep is backswing to top then beep is the hit and beep beep the follow through.

Definitely worth doing this again with someone who knows the science of using a metro

  21. Golf seems accessible to the average person. While helpful, it doesn't require the genetic superiority of other sports like football or basketball to succeed. If someone had enough instruction and time to practice, it seems like they could get to a very high level. As someone doing these videos for years, how much has your game progressed over that time? What is your current index?

  22. I use Sweet Home Alabama for my putting which is 100 beats per minute (pga tempo). Two beats looking at the ball, then two beats looking at the hole, two beats ball, two beats hole, back one beat, through one beat. Back swing starts while still looking at the hole.

  23. Milo shell-shocked in the 'Shallowing Wars' with AMG….presents a great opportunity Brendon, for you to bring the guys together…get em to kiss and make-up and provide amazing content.

  24. What really changed the most from the tik-tok motion was your takeaway where the club came inside a little faster with a flatter left wrist and the club was picked up a little less which improves the synchronization with your body motion on the takeaway. You tend to get into this pattern where the hands come a little further away from you with a slightly bowed wrist and picking the club up pretty fast all in the early takeaway. This means that you have to get your body moving pretty fast with weight forward to get flush contact and there's timing involved with your hands because essentially you're trying to throw your hands and arms forward. in the downswing.

It's really an illusion that you can shift your weight forward and do something with your hands to improve the flushness of your contact because you get into timing the hands and arms pretty quickly. It's really just a good neutral takeaway with the hands in coordination with the turn and foot pressure movment that guarentees the ability to flush the ball on the way through. If you have to focus on your hands to get forward shaft lean at impact, the problem, with someone that has a pretty good turn like yourself, is going to be with the hands and arms being out of synch in the early takeaway.

Your arms are already swinging more up and out in front of you than many top golfers although there are some that have an arms swing like yours ( Patrick Cantlay for example ) but when you do that, you cannot afford to interrupt the flow of your arm motion in sequence with your body because the club is already in front of you. For example, Milo swings closer to his body with more extension and around his body so the club is a little more behind him which gives him more room and time to synchronize the club coming down.

Study Cantlay''a tight hand and arm motion in the early takeaway, His hands never get further from his body (DTL) but somewhat closer from the start and his left wrist stays flat early and never bows toward the front of his body and even though the the arms stay away from the body more than most, there is no picking up of the club. This is essentially the lesson of the active backswing as well but to benefit from it's lessons you hove to actually do those essential movements in the backswing, including your takeaway. If you do, you won't have any problems with contact. Cheers.

  25. About 90% of the drills Brendan does in this video, I do. That impact drill is one of my favorites. Do you know how many times I'm at a driving range and I see hackers out there not doing drills and hitting the same bad shots time after time? To my fellow golfers, have drills.

I spend more time on practice swing drills then I do on hitting golf balls. I don't need to be at a range to practice my drills.

    My top drills are:
The L to L drill at 80% speed. Teaches you impact and post impact positions. This one is a game changer. Jonathan Kim Moss has a great video on it.

I'm a lefty so I call this the 8 o'clock drill. Righties will call it the 4 o'clock drill. This teaches me how to drop my hands in the power slot in the back swing. Another game changer. Got this one from Eric Cogorno.

I do the split hand grip drill for warming up. Teaches me how to stay on plane. Really step into your lead side when doing this drill. Steve Johnston has a great video on this.

The impact drill that Brendan does in the video is a great one too.

I have a few more but I'm not steering anyone wrong with the drills I've just mentioned. Remember, you can do these in your home or backyard or at a park. You don't need to hit golf balls to do them. I got so much better because I practice these drills during our winter months in my home. This is part of my workout routine.
Buy yourself a golf mat from Amazon and some foam balls if you want to make yourself a ghetto swing station….that's what I did.

Bonus tip: If you want to lower your score dramatically, stick to putting and chipping. When I started to doing putting and chipping drills, that's when I started scoring in the 70's.

  26. what the next course do you plan of playing next? Great information btw. Thanks!

  27. Hey be better golf! My name is Keith Hawkins and I competed in last year’s Amateur World Long Drive Championship. I was watching it back, saw your support and wanted to say thank you! Also to answer your question I am 6’ 200 lbs. I hope to have your support this season as I turn pro! Great videos!

  28. I recommend you use a "driving practice ball" tied to a tether before hitting real balls. It cost me $5

The metronome stuff is very interesting. Wonder if this is why LIV likes to play music
