  1. Don't feel a bit sorry for Smith. He got 100 Million for joining LIV Golf. He had just won the Open, he was on the verge of getting to number 1 and he walked away for the money. The WGR are flawed but LIV golfers have made their choice. They are now tied into contracts and would be unable to walk away, even if they choose to. Therefore I hope that they're happy playing away on their own and spending their money.

  2. TWGR will workout for LIV golf. They are gaining more and more momentum. Consider who else may be swayed over and eventually the PGA will be an equal or less than LIV. Money makes things work…not feelings or tradition. Money from the Saudi’s will eventually win.

  3. He has 1 regret and 100 million reasons to be grateful! When he retires at 45 and spends the rest of his days fishing and playing golf with his mates while his missus chucks a couple more shrimp on the barbi he won't really give a toss about worl rankings.

  4. I don't feel sorry for him at all. LIV events should NOT give rankings points, and all LIV golfers should have lifetime bans from the major tours (of which LIV is not) and all major tournaments. They wanted the money. They got it. Now piss off forever.

  5. Cam now has the money and the means to create a meaningful golf impact in Australia – precisely the reverse of what the PGA has done. Interesting to see if he and Leish can use it to have a legacy impact down under…already we have a tournament that brings some of the biggest golf names here in decades.
Of course Cam will miss the opportunity to “prove” he can out compete the whiners.

  6. For once it would be nice to see at least some spark of not being on the bandwagon of constant bringing division into golf and keeping the PGA and the world ranking as the only true ever. If you al so proud of PGA why do you still just trash talk on LIV and not about the vast beauties of PGA and co? Football is a traditional sport as well but defnitely not the same as 100 years ago, just saying … what ever – Golf forever, all golf (full stop)

  7. Imo he deserves it..after he won the open Rory had conversations with him about staying with the tour and when he went to Liv he had the gall to come out saying Rory had begged him over and over again to stay , trying to make PGA look foolish… Many people wouldn't have said a word to him they would've been glad to get rid of a good component but McIlroy didn't care about that he was just doing his best for the PGA, so I say though sh*t to Smith,he had his options and he chose the easy and greedy one…

  8. At no point should a 54 hole event be considered for world ranking points. However, it's sad but it's what happens when the golf sports leagues do not see eye to eye.

  9. That is what greed will do and I do not feel sorry for any of them . They all knew this would screw up what they had in the tours but because they got greedy they do not deserve to come back from LIV . Do not get me wrong , I enjoyed watching many of them but I will not miss them , the tours will go on .

  10. I think it's ridiculous you comparing amateur golf, which gets world ranking, to LIV golf, which does not. There are examples of 3 round tourneys that get WGRP on the PGA. Let's grow the game and be all inclusive. A famous man said "can't we all just get along? "

  11. The World ranking's credibility has now been undermined, they are no longer real world rankings and everyone knows it.

  12. His greed is his downfall and it was his clear decision to sacrifice his ranking for blood money. Also, a professional lier so, that’s taken preference to his talent. As far as I’m concerned, the golf world is better without him.

  13. Where is these guys getting their info from. No wander Reed is suing Branden Chambley for defamation. I hope he win his lawsuit. People need to be held accountable for their actions

  14. He's probably the only liv golfer that would challenge for the majors. Liv golf is just an exhibition, it's taken over from the champions tour but its not just for oldies. Due to the fact there is no cut, they should treat it like the pdc darts and have rowdy clouds that can heckle and interact with the players and have a laugh. Anyone who has seen live golf, it's much like f1, you don't see much golf. Troon at the 15th green 16th tee is good? And the 13th green at muirfield. The 17th at St Andrews is good. The old dunhill Cup at St Andrews was great, you'd walk around and golf balls would just appear trundling about. Plus you'd see the world's best dead easy. Liv should just go full on since there is no threat of missing the cut.

  15. News flash!! Nobody gives a good golly jolly fuck about LIV golf. I’ll watch some of their events but In my eyes there are no rival tours. The PGA tour is the game at its best. It means something and everything else is YouTube golf content and one of those channels has Dustin Johnson and Cam Smith which bums me out

  16. OWGR is overrated and the formula should be changed. He moved to LIV for other reasons..money, team aspect, etc. He’s one of the best putters in the game. I think you have to question why you play professionally.

  17. LIV golf is the true Dog and Pony Show, but the money was ridiculous and very tempting and it came with consequences

  18. I feel like how he won the Open makes him #1 further more anyone that is considered #1 got it because C.Smith wasn’t in the running

  19. Sorry, I’ve never heard of this guy. I do have to say, Pebbble Beach, I’d hardly heard of any of them cept the winner

  20. Majors are the only thing that counts when you are old if you win 19 mission accomplished ask Tiger that's his only goal the rest is just business.

  21. He was probably the one player aside from Dustin Johnson I was disappointed with leaving to LIV. Most of the field was older, washed up pros in their late 30s or 40s barely making cuts or not at all. Or unproven young pros who hadn't won anything.

  22. Golf is so screwy. The PGA can’t have a monopoly of a game. If the golf rankings excludes any players at all, I think they aren’t legit rankings. I don’t care what the world golf rankings say…. Cam Smith is one of the best golfers in the world. It’s totally asinine.

  23. People don’t realize this yet but more and more people don’t care for the PGA. They care for the broadcast, hype and presentation of the golf round. There isn’t a high bar there.
