Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. I would LOVE to see you do a video on the LA Golf prototype ball! I have managed to get a few dozen and they're not bad!

  2. 10:56 it’s there first ball ever. What was Titleist’s first ball like compared to their contemporaries? They have to start somewhere and as usual, more competition the better. Trash it, ok, but don’t say they shouldn’t have bothered…

say they have a long way to go. Rick is obviously a ProV1 fanboy. Not a Titleist fanboy, just that one ball… he’s obsessed. That must have an affect on his confidence when hitting them. Should hit them blind. Sure he’ll know when he hits them with the sound/feel, but the swing he puts on them will be more consistent. Wonder if Rick pays for all the ProV1’s he hits?

Edit: jumped the gun a bit with the ‘yet’ clarification… but that doesn’t take away the flaw in his testing… knowing which ball he’s hitting. Companies maybe should give people like Rick blank balls with a small stamp on so they can blind test them easier, perhaps. I bet he’ll get slightly differant results. I know how the mind works, basically, for things like this.

  3. Please, please, please test the Tour Special, £20 for 15 balls, and I am convinced they are one of the best balls I have used 🙂
    Thanks Rick

  4. The PXG off driver varied right to left a few yards, the ProV was flying 30 yds left then right.
ProV is the absolute worst ball for anyone with a handicap over 3. Any wind and sidespin and you're OB

  5. How can something be "overhyped" when it wasn't hyped whatsoever? Didn't even know these balls were coming until they got reviewed by pepo on YT

  6. Sounds like the Kirkland ball. Made in the same factory. Kirkland is the worst ball made. Just another Kirkland different logo

  7. Who’d of thought it…PXG releasing overpriced under achieving products 😂. Great honest review 👏🏼

  8. Great review as usual Rick – interesting to me how Vice balls aren't mentioned when talking about "premium" balls. Titleist, Taylor Made and Callaway always are but not Vice but I seem to remember you were quite impressed by them when you did a test a while ago. Definitely a good ball choice considering the price differential against the others.

  9. Your the 1st in your group of buds to give it a negative review Rick. Ofcourse it's not going to compete with the prov1 or any another premium ball. Most feel it should be $39 a dozen at best ,but most likely in the $29 price range.

  10. For a golf pro, Rick is kind of a terrible golfer. I've never seen him break par except for one magic round at St. Andrews. During the Good Good UK Week he played like an 18 handicap.

  11. Chipping is hard to receive a review on when he won’t do it on 18? But he feels confident enough to do it in a ball review and compare the spin to a pro v1. Also on the drives everyone understands your first few drives are the best so to do 10 and then an additional 10 of course your your numbers are going to be lower.
