How does the club get the rest of the way to the top of the backswing?
dude. money!
Hi Chuck . Thank you for your learning . I realize that it is difficult to do that . I often use my hand when take away without shoulder .
Hey Chuck
When you move your right shoulder blade down & in towards spine- what would you say moves the rest of your body away from target (to help and complete the turn/rotation)
Would you focus on center of chest? Left shoulder ? Left oblique ? Right oblique ? I'm sure this differs from player to player, but what have you found best assists the right shoulder blade in optimizing the golf swing towards more solid ball striking and consistency ?
Thanks!
More brief and to the point would be so much more effective, and we'd maintain interest… cut out the 'engineering degree' babble etc.
playing for 20 years. so inconsistent still. I've gone through all the stuff many people know, struggles, inconsistency etc First time I've ever looked for some swing help via tube. this vid popped up first, i love it! I've battled with the take away since I started. i love the right shoulder move. is that a standard move most teachers use during instruction? either way I'm going to work with that for a bit. great stuff, i will check out your other vids!
Hi Chuck, is it OK to do this using the "scapula" muscle?
Need to watch this video again. Missed most of the instruction as my eyes focused on what is perhaps the most beautiful golf course I have ever seen. What a treasure.
Talk tooooooooo much
Excellent video…one question…what is the next step after you put the club in the "perfect" position with the 2-inch movement? do you just keep rotating inside until you reach your max?
So feel like your pushing your hand down toward left pocket keep club outside the hands ??
Teriffic explanation, best lesson on the Internet, Thanks !
I've been working on pushing the left hand back in the takeaway and seems to have the same feeling as the move you are describing. cheers
I have been using this 'feeling' for a year..it has GREATLY helped me to get the club in the right position to begin the downswing!…I hit cleaner and more accurate shots!..it's not easy to think of your scapula …but, it DOES work!
What a great tip! Thank you for the expert teaching.
Thank you for the video! Your demonstration made it easy for me to understand and apply. Thanks again!
Hi Chuck….thank you, thank you, thank you a thousand times. The right shoulder going down a little in the backswing, is the best tip I've ever got. That makes it easy to attack the ball feeling the left shoulder pointing right of the target just before impact, very connected and very powerful. I started screaming of joy when I tried it, now I finally look like Hogan at the top.
I tried to watch the Full Shoulder Blade Glide which you said was free, buti is not.
This fellow seems like a good instructor , BUT i was CONSTANTLY distracted by the pop – ups . Ridiculous ! I'll go on to someone else . Seems like Rotary Golf gets a little cute with in their attempt to be clever .
heres the best golf tip you will ever get first go get fitted. goooo get fitted, then go too the the golf course, tee the ball up then stair dowen your target then step into the ball and just take the shoot god hates a coward.
after watching countless videos about golf swings, the videos that you guys put up are the most applicable and simple to understand for me! good job and keep it up guys!
Dang….. That is very cool.
I'm glad there's a video backing up what I've also found true for myself. "Pointing my right shoulder blade at the ball", like you've described here, has been the best way I've learned to repeatedly flush my shots from a textbook backswing position.
Re-film this video with footage directly behind you. bonus marks for your shirt off so I can see for myself ! Seeing is believing. Add in a trace of your scapula and a line on your spine and you've got a killer video.
Fully agree that this sounds so simple and it works great! Just focus on your right shoulder moving a few inches. You can totally ignore focus on the hands and swing plane in backswing — that will happen naturally with the shoulder turn. Added benefit, I am less likely to turn my head so far to the right with this method. A dip of the right shoulder to start the downswing propels me slightly forward, followed by a whip of the back hip, allows ball contact 1st before turf from the inside for a nice draw.
The trick,I think you'll agree,is that the 2 inch move must propel the Y formed by the arms and club pretty much straight back from the ball.I notice that I'm prone to the dreaded shank if this breaks down.Am I right in this assessment please and if so can you offer a tip to ensure that the club head stays on correct path initially? Nevertheless its an ingenious tip that has improved my striking no end
Tks

This is excellent!
Great information
Great instruction, but too much talking.
Right shoulder blade into your spine and slightly down? I have no idea what this means. Does this make sense to anyone? Your right shoulder blade cannot move into your spine and it certainly does not move slightly down during the takeaway. The description is either wrong or a very poor choice of words.
You talk too much, got bored.
Used this on the course today, great tip! Just need a downswing tip.
very helpful video thanks !
