    Many thanks Russ for putting up these two development squad matches. Both very instructive, and with the added bonus of Ben Rothman's promotion at rover to enable him to peg out. After such a brilliant shot the subsequent rush back to peg left him an awkward distance to finish. Even the best look up sometimes, so I'll forgive myself next time I do the same.
    In neither of the two matches did players seem to have any problem running hoops. At the Macrob itself the hoops were much more difficult and I wonder whether the US team preparation would have been better if the players were having to cope with similarly tight and very rigid hoops.
