  1. I agree I’ve played golf for 17 years and I only really watch the majors, I feel like it’s way more enjoyable watching a YouTuber make a video of a match or 18 holes and have a laugh, feel more connected to a YouTuber making a video than I do watching the PGA tour on a Sunday night

  2. Rather watch a 15handicap player hack around his local course shot by shot than watch a PGA/LIV event, majors yes, but any other event, no interest! Channel coming soon 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

  3. I’ll continue to watch both. It’s great to see tthe skills that are Tour Pros display and tournaments (like the current DP World/Rolex event in Dubai is a great example.
Also good to see YT influencers like yourself playing courses, but I pay more attention to you on club reviews than I would to an influencer who is sponsored by a major company.
Of course, when RS played a round with Rickie Fowler that was quite a draw…..but thankfully without ramming any club sponsor down our throats 😂

  4. I don't watch PGA tour much… maybe some recaps' and that's all. Not much more of the DP world tour, except their youtube content is miles better than that of the PGA tour. I do watch some LIV golf (on youtube!) and consume most of my golf on youtube. The fact is that live golf is rather boring, there's too much waiting in between shots and to compensate TVs just jump randomly from group to group, which doesn't make for a good flow. So yeah, I watch youtube golf but often the level of golf isn't that impressive. So clearly cross-overs between tour players and YT golf channels is the bees knees… Editing, discussion, banter, fun PLUS GREAT GOLF? I'm happy!

  5. If TM can buy a whole company (Adams) for its "content" it's not such a huge stretch to think they can buy a YouTube channel.

  6. The GG, Micah and Grant are not the 1st 'influencers' to be sponsored and won't be the last.
What I hate is the 'creaming' over the products they are now using. I now they have to but it winds me up…

  7. I personally like when influencers play full rounds against tour pros. The tour pros are SO MUCH better than the influencers its unreal. But like with Rick starting -10 that makes it interesting although in most cases its not nearly enough. I'm REALLY looking for to Micah, Grant or both getting to go at it with Tiger.

  8. When you watch a pro tournament you get to listen to a commentator tell you what he's thinking. When watching a youtube video the people that are playing are talking telling what there doing or trying to do.There's more personal connection with the viewers.

  9. What a tour pro plays is so unimportant to me because 1) their level play is so far removed from my reality and 2) as we have learned the past 10 years or so the clubs the tour pros play have little in common with what is actually on the rack at the store. I can definitely see why brands would start to move toward the “influencer” for their products as I find the golf on youtube very entertaining but for me at least I couldn’t care less what someone else plays. I want something I like that helps me play better. Channels need to be careful as being tied to one brand can have a significant impact on credibility. The exact same thing is happening in the “influencer woodworking” community with tool companies.

  10. i like watching you-tubers play a professional … if the coverage is a decent amount of time, i hate 30-45 min clips. 1hr to 1.5 hrs would be better, i want to get invested in it. I think the coverage from the pga and liv let them down, all we see is the best couple of players and rare shots from others that hit a particularly good one.
With youtubers we can see every shot and even them hanging shit on each other. I know this is the wrong chanel, but for example RS v's Westwood, Lee was just hanging shit the whole time, i enjoyed the heck out of that one. I think golf used to be displayed almost as a documentary, these days it may be required to head down the path of looking like a movie if that makes sense and getting people more 'into it"

  11. Between Youtubers and LIV it's finally showing how stale golf has become.
I have no idea what comp is on each week but I do however know when my favourite Youtubers are releasing videos

  12. Well it is great to watch the big pro’s play and do amazing stuff. The YouTubers are more like us playing, so people will identify more with people like goodgood. Broadcasting Chanels talk to much with to less in course action. For me i like youtube more because the talk is less action is more. You see that pga tour and dpworldtour know this and posting more video’s themself

  13. I rather watch Bob does Sports vs a tour pro. Fat Perez is amazing and Bob and Cutsey skill wise are more like a regular guy playing on the weekends.

  14. It wasn't addressed but what about the professional players a d the elevation of their PIP scores. The sponsors like Callaway & Taylormade realize they want both name recognition and association with the pro players they sponsor and NOW with PIP scores that their players are seen and promoted in all venues not just tournament golf. Therefore, put them on with sponsored promoters on YouTube. It's a 30 minute infomercial playing golf. PIP scores go up, the players pockets grow deeper. The venues are featured- membership & fees rise… and YouTube personalities are getting more subscribers…. ah marketing and capitalism… gotta love it

  15. I think many channels are going to be transformed into low-cost infomercials for their respective product manfacturers – how can they not be when Company A is laying out the $$$? With some channels (not Sheils and not this one) there is a lot of commentary about how good the players on the channels are (these are mainly the US channels) and these deals will further fuel that talk (really hype). But proof is in the pudding so I still would like to see all of these "great players" play in real events – in the US that would be state opens, US Open qualifiers, etc. on real deal courses and not these 2 v 2 matches on local munis were all the YouTubers play each other and give 5 footers or in pro-ams where it's some kinds of team event the OEMs put together. Real tournaments to see where they REALLY stack up – and can they back that hype up. For most of them, I think we'll never see that because we know how it will turn out. And it's better for their channels to have the claim of being really good versus being exposed as not.

  16. Hit 120k$ today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months, Started with 14k$ in January 2022👍❤️❤️

  17. Most golfers know they can’t play the same clubs as a tour pro…wher as Micah talks about how much he loves his clubs….tour players only promote their clubs by seeing a logo on their hat or bag

  18. I've always enjoyed the one-on-one influencers rounds with the big boppers. You get so much more insight into their golf approach than watching a normal round.

  19. I know it's all about money. We all know damn well all these guys would not game these clubs. So to me they are faking how they feel.

  20. Still hoping you get the podcast up on Stitcher again – July 2020 is the last one shown (but can't download) – clearly something wrong with the feed.

  21. When Grant said he didn't want to compromise his morals or something to that effect I think he was referring to straight up shilling Callaway 24/7. I feel like it's probably not gonna slow down but be a infomercial for Callaway more than people are expecting. Could be wrong but time will tell.

  22. I'd rather watch Bob Does Sports… Have a day 😉… Bobby Fairways, Joey Coldcuts and Fat Perez are so funny and the golf buggy chats with their guests are such brilliant casual interviews… Bob is an absolutely natural…

  23. I started following Max Homa through his interactions with No Laying Up. I started following No Laying Up after following Rick Shiels and he mentioned them. I didn't purchase Callaway who NLU were sponsored by though, I went and got a fitting and bought Taylormade. Matt Wolff and DJ are still on Taylormade's website just not the lead banner shot. When watching PGA I sometimes go and watch a YT and then go back to the PGA, and then go back to YT. Unless its the final round and the final hour of a tournament.

  24. I don’t watch pro televised golf. It’s 75 percent putting with a bunch of country club snobs. I’ve been to pro tournaments and the golfers do not interact with fans at all. It’s boring as hell. I watch Youtube channels every single day. I bought Takomo Irons off Youtube reviews and influencers. This is the new advertising horizon. Wake up club manufacturers and save your millions on pros who ad almost no value to marketing. Micah and Grants Taylormade fitting was eye opening. Very educational about ball flight and spin rates.

  25. Although YouTube influencers make me aware of unknown mfg’s like Takomo Golf, Snell, etc. When it comes right down to it, the only thing that influences me, is the feel and how it works for me. I will never buy brand A because Peter uses it, or B because Rick uses it, or C because Tiger uses it. My tools (for work) is how I pick my sticks, does it feel good and does it do what I need it to do.

  26. I want to watch the tour players play, because it's great seeing the competition between the top pros, but I also want to see those pros in a more casual setting where they can laugh and be themselves without the high pressure situations. It's also fun to get their insights that the youtube pros can get over a 1 hour video, rather than a 15 second interview with a sports-caster.

  27. This topic is over analyzed. Mfs need to move on. Two people chose what’s best for them , that’s it.

  28. To answer the question about what you rather watch I feel like it’s special to watch the pros play with these guys because you get to watch them on the biggest stage. I’d rather watch both events. It’s really cool to watch the pros on the stage but then to get personal access through YouTube is really interesting.

  29. I watch YouTubers and LIV events everything else is just not entertaining. Like yesterday I watched some of the Dubai tournament and they just follow along with the same group ignoring everything going on with the other players in the tournament, I ended up watching the Good Good guys play with Rickie Fowler instead.
