The average golfer tests the NEW Ping G430 7 wood and the TaylorMade Stealth 2 7 wood, are these the most forgiving golf clubs for average golfers? Every golfer should now have a 7 wood in the bag in my opinion.

Great clubs for those tricky distances. I have G425 5 & 7 woods, 7 is high, long and accurate and 5 is set at 16 deg so 4 wood giving a lower flight and longer, works well to gap my bag. Adjustability is key though.
Does no else play on the courses when you film!
What do you think 7 wood vs. 9 wood? Especially out of the rough
Big fan of a 7w but with my swing a shallow faced fairway works better than a taller face. I have a G425 5w which performs brilliantly but it is LOUD. That G430 7w looks perfect for me (I really like the matt finish), I know from my current 7w it should carry 195-200 yards, no need for it to go longer as my 5w carries 210 yard.
Stealth looks slightly taller club face and assuming my testing results follow Andy's I would prefer the Ping due to slightly more spin, and steeper descent angle – long shots into greens should stop faster with the Ping
For you, what hybrid do you hit the equivalent distance, and have you now chosen to carry a 7 wood instead of that corresponding hybrid in your bag?
Great review. Recently moved back to fairway woods from long irons as my lessons had me hitting them better. Went for a 7 wood fitting to fill gap between 4 iron and mizuno 5 wood. Ping G430 was amazing and so easy to hit. Only issue was it went as far as my 5 wood! But as you said – adjust and a a degree. It gaps perfectly until I maybe decide to buy a Ping 5 wood I future. Such a good club
Another cracker mate. Keep them coming
Would love to see you do a 3 wood comparison, rogue 2, new ping and the paradym. Had a fitting yesterday and results very interesting
your thoughts on the Stealth 2 HD 7 wood ?….cheers
Is this the only Youtuber talking about Ping and TaylorMade while the rest of the world is talking about Callaway lol.
Have you had a chance to try the Cobra Aerojet 7 wood yet? I'm curious as to how it will match up against these two.
I’ve added a 21 degree utility club from Golfworks and have been very pleased. $100 club with Kuro Kage shaft.
Get me a 7 wood and I’d happily put it in my bag 🏌🏻♂️
Hi Andy love your review👍,I have played 7Woods for 30years + & the new 7Woods are much more powerful now, last year updated my Ping 410 7Wood to Stealth 7Wood (with mixed results) you were “spot on” with your comment about the Pings big Plus is its adjustable👍, think I will be changing back to a Ping G430 7Wood this year the adjustment makes it a much more playable Club👍, Thanks Andy for your (wise words) Dickey 9hcp 67year senior golfer
Rock of Gibraltar?
Biggest problem for me is that TM doesn't make a left handed 7 wood so it's gotta be Ping all day for me!
Big 7-wood fan. Currently, a Sim Max2 in my bag, but that Ping G430 looks mighty tempting!
I put a Mizuno 7 wood in my bag last year and it's my favorite club. I prefer it to my rescue and 4 iron by far. I actually dropped my Ping 4 crossover and went to a 5 hybrid instead.
You are a Ping man
How do you compare the two 7 woods against your Cleveland Hy-wood
i’m hitting these clubs into greens not off the tee so i’ll take a steeper decent angle. i actually bought the Titleist 7 wood and it’s a peach 🍑
5,7,&9 woods for me…. don't think I would ever go back…..9 wood probably the biggest surprise….5 iron distance stops like a wedge…..
I had a young guy tell me you shouldn't be allowed to hit woods on 170 yard par 3's…..he wasn't quite so cocky when I put it to 2 feet and holed the birdy putt……
I think it's these kind of clubs that keep you in the game as you get older and loose a bit of speed…..no long irons ever again😂
Way back in the day , I played Adams first edition 3,5,,7 tight lie fairway wood and they should have never left my bag as I went to a lower handicap as those clubs got me there and thought I needed to go blades and just carry a 4 wood only with the rest irons, my game stalled at a 6 handicap, should have left my bag the way it was to get to a 6 HC, I may of went lower!!!!
This video has ONE HUGE PROBLEM!!! It's so good I just had to give a try at creating a catchy comment title.
I feel that a lot of golfers do not look at higher lofted fairway woods because the golf industry and the golf retailers really do not promote higher lofted fairway woods. At most of the golf retailers in the United States, you are lucky if you can find a higher lofted fairway wood (7W and above) on the shelf in even a regular flex shaft. You will have an easier time finding a unicorn than ever finding one with a stiff or extra stiff shaft.
Most of the demo carts or demo days won’t even have higher lofted fairway woods, or if they do, they will be 99.99% of the time be in senior or ladies flex.
I signed up for a Callaway demo event this past Saturday and I was interested in higher lofted fairway woods. The fitting cart for the 2023 version and the people on site did not have anything above a 5W to test. This is not a one off case when I go to try to test.
I play an extra-stiff 7W and 9W since they launch so much better, but I had to make the clubs myself from components.
I do appreciate you and other golfers getting the word out there, so maybe the retailers and manufacturers will start listening
What is the origin/meaning of the term "dry ball data"?
Adjustability is not important to me. Also, the Stealth 2 HD 7 wood has a lower profile, like the G430.
great video, thanks
I put in a 425 7 wood over the summer and it’s brilliant. It gaps off my 4 iron perfectly and so consistent even when I’m not.
I love your videos. I was inspired by your video just ordered used TS2 7 wood. Could you let me know which shaft you used for both of the clubs? Thank you!
About 15 years ago I wanted a 3 or 4 iron replacement. Only thought was a rescue club. The guy at Sports Direct Huddersfield brought a good selection of 2, 3 and 4 rescues. I picked 1 that I thought suited my needs. He asked me to try 1 more club. He told me not to look at what the club was, just hit it. Wow, exactly what I wanted. Turns out it was a John Letters 7 wood . Fantastic, and not a club I would have asked to try. After seeing me play with it, I know of 2 friends who purchased 7 woods.

Take a shot after you hear “dry ball data” and your not walking the course, lol
Thanx for the info Andy. I have a G430 7-wood ordered and am anticipating it soon. I have a feeling I can take both my 4 iron and even possibly my 5 iron out of the bag.
I bought a Wilson D9 7 wood.. loving it. 5 iron bye bye.
