Thanks for these tips. They all resonated with me and I’m going to put them into my practice routine today. Clearly explained and visually you nailed it. 🌟👍🏼
This makes total sense. Thank you!
I like the idea of getting my hands higher. Plus opening my feet up a little bit.
Thank You as far as a tip from me I recommend a flask of good whisky for 3 reasons 1 you can share it with your friends 2 you can celebrate your good shots (if they happen) 3 it will console you on your bad shots, adjust the size of the flask accordingly
Good tips, thanks
I'm 55 n didn't play in my 20'z. Now what ?😵. Can I use my 40'z ? 🙀😹👍🍻
To increase your Flexibility I strongly recommend taking yoga classes. Many golf exercises I have seen are simply take offs or variations of basic yoga stretches. I started taking yoga classes about 15 years ago for the sole purpose of increasing my flexibility for golf. I am 73 and a 90s golfer with drives averaging 210 to 220 yds
I am a 66 yrs. old male. I have widened my stance, flared my feet out, and am learning to take a higher and longer swing using my left ( or forward arm) which is giving me more power and more distance as you described. The problem is I am pull hooking my iron shots and can't seem to control the club face. I can sometimes hit a nice little draw but I don't know where the club face is at impact and sometimes I hit a nice straight shot to the right. HELP!!!
So it will cause my swing to be a bit more upright,…correct
taking a hint from Don Trahan I see – Keep It Vertical
I'm in my 50s and just started golfing. Wish I had started it earlier, I really enjoy it. What would be some tips that might be specific for older golfers that didn't play in their 20s or ever before?
Some really helpful tips that are easy to do.
Excellent advice geared to the golfer over 40 years old.
I am 78 & know that this advice definitely helps me.
Many thanks Todd.
I'm 62 and been playing for 50 years,,, These are really EXCELLENT tips to help get more length on the backswing and more clubhead speed to be able to keep hitting the ball good solid distances. Thanks so much!
Over 40…Many years ago, I played with a gold professional who was eighty (80). He asked me, which arm can swing faster with the club, which turns out to be your lead arm. He had me on my down swing feel my left arm coming down faster and trail arm coming along for the ride and at point of release feel my right coming thru shacking hands with the target….Hope this makes sense.. Just try it out. Control down swing speed with lead arm…As long as I get my weight shift to my front I've found it also helps with not hitting fat shots….Try it out and let me know what you think……Leland
THANKS…this is a big help to my previous post where you talk about hitting it 37yds longer. Having said that if your swing speed is 80..how do I improve that?
Just turned 70 and have struggled with consistency most of my golfing life. I'm especially enjoying your tips for experienced players. Still trying to improve every aspect of the game and you're helping. Thanks
Todd Lanny fm Wyo I loved ur video to hit high draw. I dont undwrstand ur bonus tip where butt end of club on follow thru pointed at a certain point ahead & across of ur teed up ball. Could u further explain that. I cant wait for weather to warm up so I can do these 3 things to hit high draw. Sorry this is so long.
Todd, I have been a slicer for 20 years. I subscribed to your vertical line swing program and have done the transition drills but I still slice. Is there one drill that I should focus on to eliminate my slice.
I'm retired and am 54. I decided to get back into golf for something to do. I'm becoming a huge fan of yours. I started at the driving range and couldn't get the ball more than 80 yards; and that was with the driver. After some practice and using one of your videos just before leaving home each time. my game has dramatically improved in about 3 months. I still tend to pull to the right but I can hit the ball 250-280 yards with the driver today. But I'm still losing many balls in the woods…lol
Todd thanks for helping us seniors watched a lot of your great videos! Love the vertical line for us 70 plus seniors!
Am 55 and practice with wedges and and own every chipper ever made, including MUL, just to practice from 100 yards in and as well as even manipulation of chippers but flex and ball speed is qayyyyyy down
Hi Todd. I am one of your adepts. The Vertical swing is great. But I do have a question that comes out of swinging the way you instruct. I find that I hit a lot of fat shots, as I come vertically down, instead of sweeping, as I’ve been doing with a more horizontal swing. How do I correct it?
Thanks for the senior tips. Where do you recommend taking the 3 set swings (behind ball, side, over the ball). Swinging above the ball seems to reduce tension in the real swing for me.
Great lesson! I have a problem with coming out of my stance. Do you recommend keeping your trail heel down until after impact
