  1. I understand but don't agree with the argument that Mizuno should undercut the price of their competitors. They are a premium golf brand. No one would argue that. But pricing their drivers below that of the competition gives the impression to the consumer that the product is not as good. They should focus on marketing and presence. They can sell irons on reputation alone, but not drivers. I play mizen irons and played a driver for a bit as well. For me it was just as good as any other brand.

  2. Wonder whether they think their traditionally lower price against the big sellers has been putting players off – "if it's that cheap is it any good?". Or maybe it's just an acceptance that they're not going to break into the market leaders so let's just maximise what we get from our loyal buyers. Either way, £500 would give me pause. But if the Big Boys' are charging that and more anyway, why not test them? If they can equal the performance for me that the £500+ manufacturers are giving, then surely it's worth the money.

  3. The prices of golf clubs in general, drivers and putter especially have been getting out of hand.

  4. I think the most reasons no one tries Mizuno Drivers is that they don't build a confidence level like the other brands, no matter how good they are.
I think TM, PING, COBRA, Callaway & Titleist are the TOP brands that build confidence in USING & making a driver purchase, as they just work and HAVE BEEN for 30 years now.
I did bag the Mizuno Forged T -Zoid driver when it came out as it worked well, after 2 years of using it I went back to Ping drivers!
Never even thought about trying a Mizuno again, don't know why either.

  5. I have played the ST 190, STZ and I just picked up a brand new STZ 220 for $170 USD on Ebay a couple months ago. I will buy this STZ 230 for about the same price next fall. I like getting a new driver head each year and Mizuno allows me to do it on the cheap! I always play Mizuno irons and pay full price, however.

  6. It is a availability issue. When I go to the stores Callaway, Taylormade, Ping, Cobra, have more options. Not many mizuno. The big stores don’t carry the woods. So most people aren’t trying them, which leads less sales.
Also the lower price subconscious makes people feel they are less quality

  7. you lost me at £500! Just picked up a brand new Ping G400 max still in the wrapper for £225. So much value to be had in the 2nd hand market as opposed to new. In a year you will be lucky to get £250 for those Mizunos.

  8. I own the last STZ and it's a good driver. Not great but good. My buddy has the Stealh and the performance between the two is about the same. The mizuno is a little better left to right but that is about it.

  9. I find the cost is always the issue. If your spending £450+ i doubt people will ever pick mizuno, cobra etc. They do everything good but definitely not out performing ping , callaway and TM. For that price you might aswell just get a driver from the big 3

  10. I remember forever ago watching a TaylorMade video, and Sergio Garcia among other TM staffers, were using draw bias weighting in their drivers, and I remember Sergio explaining that it feels easier to square up the face that way to him, others said similar things like it made turning the ball over easier where they could always fade it, and others said they grew up playing a driver weighted that way and it just felt better to them. Anyway, I think people would be shocked by the number of the best golfers in the world who prefer their driver weighted that way.

  11. Best driver i had was the old MP600, Wish i still had it, currently in Mavrik, don’t think there is any reason to change yet

  12. I know they use a 45 in standard length in their drivers, which I like but would imagine those into indoor numbers would find speed and thus ball speed to be effected. That's if you were using their stock shafts they come with.

  13. In the US EVERY fitter I’ve gone to it felt like they were pushing me to a specific brand from the jump and it’s NEVER Mizuno (I had to demand to try it) My hunch is that kickbacks keep fitters from even suggesting a player try the driver.

  14. I have the 190 and have enjoyed it for several years. I'll definitely try the new 230. love the little blue accents and I'm excited to see what the last few years of gradual improvement have created.

  15. I used a second hand st190 when I first started playing, but the looks and sound didn’t really do it for me, once I learnt to drive well I went straight to taylormade sim 2, mainly for looks but I’m terms of performance it was minimal, but the looks and sound ticked the boxes for me

  16. I game a stg220. Love the driver, but has a tendency to have the weights loosen up over the course of a couple sessions. First driver with weight tracks, so not sure if that’s a byproduct of brand or design. Either way, performs well minus that annoyance.

  17. I played a Mizuno driver, so I'm happy to give it a try. A year from now. I'm not paying $600 when I can get an 18 month old driver for $200 in new condition.

  18. Hey Mark, Just so you know. The Mizuno drivers are selling here in the US for $499 USD. Compare to Callaway, and Taylormade at $599 USD – ish. Cobra and PING are in the middle at $549 USD.

  19. I bought last may a STZ driver(2021 model) for £320 brand new with a black Hzds smoke shaft(RDX). No Brainer .

  20. Yet another dozy priced driver£500! What is it with these manufacturers at the moment? And as all the others, probably made in China for five Bob!

  21. I still game ST190 and will always give Mizuno a test until they demonstrate a lack of performance. I've nearly given up on TM as I don't seem to get along with Twist Face and I struggle with the shaping of other drivers from Callaway & Cobra. I'll always give Titleist a chance and will experiment with brands like Srixon – even Wilson with the new release. Also, pricing according to MyGolfSpy, is at $499 US for the 230 ST-Z & ST-X.

  22. Mark. Would like to Try a mizuno driver, but getting hold of and testing product is tough. I can test a Stealth/ calllaway almost everywhere.

  23. No…..never even enters my mind….I think at £499 they will get a tiny tiny tiny piece of the market…I have never played with anyone with a mizuno driver….if they want to compete with ping, TM, callaway etc they need to be a lot cheaper…..also when trying to sell on their resale value will be terrible compared to the other big boys….yes all about marketing but that’s we’re we are at

  24. Please make the Hack It Out pod available on YouTube! Would enjoy it even more being able to see you all.
