Dude doesn’t have a clue how he’s doing it. He just does it.
Just make the club head swing on a wide, shallow arc. Most people get way too steep, and choppy. A longgg brushing of the grass is a good swing thought for me. I used to try and trap every wedge shot. This made me too steep, driving the leading edge into the ground. There’s zero margin of error doing that. Now, I picture sliding the club under the ball, without leaning back. The leaning back part is where most people mess up, trying to “help” the ball go up. That isn’t necessary. That’s what loft is for.
I wish my wedge play swing translated to my iron play. Short game and putting saves my game.
Spend a few hours pitching from 30-60 yards. The distance control becomes instinctive very quickly with a little practice applied. It’s like throwing a ball to someone. You don’t think about how many feet/yards they are from you or how far to wind up, you just instinctively know how much energy to apply. With a little practice it becomes intuitive.
Good stuff!
