Absolutely see this in my scores when I go for the middle of the green versus the pin in the front. I’d definitely rather be putting in that situation and whatever it takes to do that I’m in. Plus, as you would also point out, the fact is that we don’t hit it as far as we often think when it comes to dialing in a precision shot on the course.

Always play the middle yardage when at the front,and the back yardage when on the middle,you'll be surprised how good this is
But IF GREEN SLOPES SERVE FROM BACK TO FRONT, ID RATHER BE JUST SHORT THEN 30 FOOTER STRAIGHT DOWN HILL
