There are 5 main changes to the rules of golf starting in 2023.
1. The rules applied to players with disabilities are combined into the standard rules of competition under rule #25.
2. You will no longer need to write your correct handicap on your scorecard. The committee will be able to electronically calculate your handicap for you.
3. Except in circumstances of abuse, the player may repair or replace any broken club with another club so far as it does not hold up the rate of play.
4. A ball at rest must be replaced if it goes to another part of the course or rests outside of the boundaries after being dropped, placed, or replaced, according to a new exception.
5. The technique for back-on-the-line relief, which is frequently utilized for a penalty area and unplayable ball relief, has been streamlined so that the player now drops their ball on the line, and the ball must come to rest within one club length of where it is dropped.
HELP YOUR GOLF GAME WITH A GARMIN GPS WATCH!!! These are great for score tracking and judging distances while on the course! I have one and use it every time I play. I love being able to see how far I am from the pin so I can select the right club for the job.
