    I bought a used set of Mizuno jpx850 forged 4 years ago. The clubs feel great and I got a good deal on them. I am a mid/high handicap and feel maybe buying a better set used that you can try and get a rough fitting rather than something super cheap you can’t try could be more beneficial.

    Maybe a 9 piece set (instead of 6) would be better for a newbie. What do you hit for a second shot on a par 5? Just needs a 5 iron & a hybrid maybe.

    So James, if I asked you, of all the low-budget club sets you've tried, which one would you recommend?

    James,,, a lot of those pitch marks that you see that aren't fixed are probably from people that missed the green. If they hit a shot and can't see it down and their ball is off the green they don't know if it hit the green and made a pitch mark.
    That said everyone should always fix pitch marks even if they're not theirs.
