Ben Hogan said the arms come along for the ride. Does that mean the arms lag behind the body? Here I explore where his elbows are in the downswing.

Christo, your finish through the Hogan search has for the most part seemed to me rather flat.. But NOW it appears much more Hoganesque… like his finishes in the Shell competition with Snead. I'm sure you noticed immediately. Congratulations.
It seems that at address, the position of Hogan's right arm ,as he "shoots the ground" with his arched wrists, …..that right arm seems to be "on top".
This gets back to what I have mentioned before on your videos….Hogan seemed to do the opposite on the way back of what he wanted to accomplish in the downswing.
His cupped wrist promoted the bow at impact.
And I believe that his "right arm on top" at address promoted the right arm position, the under and powerful position, into impact that he desired.
It can really be seen in his '53 swing, the Cano tapes

the 1:18 mark of this video…….and throughout the video….
I see you practice with out a glove. Does that help you feel the swing better?
Christo…Still pushing the Ben Hogan Method..Why don't you buy the company out of financial trouble and keep this Ben Hogan Method going on and on and on…He was a roll model for golfer to follow with His Desire and Hard Work….Just a thought….P.S. Ilove HIs PTx Pro irons just the shafts options were something to be desired….
Right elbow comes to the front of the body. Folks need to study how Mr. Hogan setup to the ball. A squared off, railroad track alignment rods on the ground would have you do the excessive drop behind you with your right elbow. Mr. Hogan eliminated this and cured his hook by changing how he walked into the ball and made his golf swing. He went from a long left arm Power Golf swing to a shorted up left arm coming into the ball. Mr. Hogan always wanted the elbows pointing down to the ground in the swing. No dropping down and under. Thank you, Christo for your videos.
Also, if your techniques are different when hitting a driver you would tend to get a trapped right elbow behind you and hit up on the ball. You would have 2 swings. Thanks again for your work.
Your book is great, I really enjoyed reading it. The only problem I had with the Kindle version was the inability to change the font size. Made it kind of difficult to read.
Totally agree with you , had epiphany with my trail elbow doing exactly the same , had it dismissed by my pro as getting trapped . Stick with it x
