  1. Hi Russell, I heard you say many times you like the expression of "turning the pelvis into the leg". I just had a session with my physiotherapist and she said the legs are very much attached to the pelvis so as you turn the pelvis you also turn the leg. So it is virtually physically impossible, try as you may like, to turn the pelvis into a leg if the leg turns at the same time. To turn the pelvis into a leg, the leg would have to remain still while the pelvis turned into it -which is impossible once you consider the leg is firmly attached to the pelvis and as the pelvis goes do does the leg. ????Bewitched and bewildered am I.

  2. Keeping it simple guys. Here's what took me 2 years to really get right. Place a golf ball on the ground, and take your normal stance, WITH NO CLUB. Step #1, push both hips back like you are going to sit on a chair. Step #2, bring your lead hip (the one closest to the target) forward toward to ball, BUT don't let your trail hip come forward with it. If you're struggling, place your hand on the trail hip and FORCE it to stay back while you bring the other one forward. Third, push the lead hip back to where it started in Step #1, but again DON'T let the trail hip come forward. Once you understand that both hips can move independent of one another, you are well on your way to learning to thrust the hips at the target and NOT at the ball on the ground in front of you. It may take some time to master this, maybe even months, but it will dramatically increase your club speed, assuming everything else is also sufficiently sequenced and positioned.
