  1. I tried vice balls before – found they cut up much faster than others so weren't suitable for my backyard practice net use. On course I think they'd do fine, I'd expect to lose one before it degraded to the point I could notice. I did also notice the paint came off more easily than high-end balls – I'd get white marks on 7 iron whereas the others don't mark up anything longer than a sand-wedge.

I'd suggest to maybe try the Maxfli Tour CG – I personally find the matte finish option really suits my eye more than the glossy finishes, and the printed-on alignment lines are again more useful to me than the more usual line-of-text.

On that subject if there's any good not-white not-glossy option out there I'd like to know about it.

  2. These are the Vice Tours, which are just 3-piece surlyn balls (which would rival something like a TourSoft or ERC Soft, not a ProV1). Those would be Vice's Pro/Pro Plus.

  3. Yeah…. I know the Vice Pro and Pro Plus are the ones that are comparable to Pro V1 and Pro V1x. I am not sure if the Vice Tour is the one you meant to compare. Give the Pro series a try and see what you think. My golf buddy and I switched to them last year. Bought the 5 box promo and split them. Great value and great feeling golf balls.

  4. I love the Vice golf ball. I played the "drip" version with the paint splatter pattern. I loved the performance!

  5. I liked the Vice Pro ball, but for an average golfer who puts more than the odd one in the trees or out of bounds they are a bit pricey. So I tried the Vice Tour. They were decent but not as good as the Pro. I thought they felt a bit hard. I also had problems with durability after a few wedge shots. I'd say they'd make a good winter ball but they don't do them in yellow.
I'm currently using Srixon Q Star Tour and they're great, just the right blend of price and performance for me.

  6. Interesting to get a take from someone playing the low end ball thinking it's the high end ball.

  7. Thought this was going to be about the Kirkland ball. Urethane, 3-piece. I am not a Costco member, yet can still buy them on Amazon (US) for $35 for TWO dozen. As a below average golfer who loses a few balls every round, this ball is the best bang-for-your-buck by far.

  8. As a senior golfer, my swing speed & eyesight is a bit lacking. i have been using the Vice pro soft neon lime balls & are able to see the ball in flight & they fly well & stand out on the fairway being easy to see. The pro soft was suggested for my swing speed & the surprising thing I found the other day was the length I was getting now the weather has warmed here in Melbourne Australia. Just bought 2 dozen with confidence after my first dozen experiment.

  9. I love you and the videos Matt but it really bugs me that you say “preformance” 😂
Keep up the good work mate 👍🏻

  10. people really need to lay off the prov1. youtubers only over-glorify it because they are paid to continuously praise it. its so annoying how they repeatedly throw the word, "premium" every frikin time they mention prov's. Vice is a great ball and so is the Cut grey. if it's a 3 piece ball than it rivals the proV. maybe the proV is a very well balanced ball, but it's still only 3 piece when compared to balls that are 4 piece or more, making them the more "premium" ball

  11. Every one on you tube is comparing everything to a pro v 1 but bags normal people using blades coz they aren't good enough for them. Isn't the pro v 1 the blade of the golf ball?

  12. Not sure why the title shows as Costco golf balls VS pro v1. Was trying to figure it out.

Disclosure:not the best golfer anymore but do know the feel and know what to do in different conditions. Was a single digit handicap but now a 30+handicap. Lol.

Having said that, I recently bought the vice pro plus, vice pro soft, vice pro, and Snell MTB Red to just get a feeling. Vice pro plus felt really nice. Had control that I needed and felt soft of the face. The others just didn't feel as good, but not a write off by any mean. The most disappointment for me was the Snell so far. Was hoping it was comparable to vice pro plus but wasn't.

Why did vice pro plus feel good? Off the driver it felt soft. Was. Able to get straighter and longer drives. On short games, it gave me control of the my shots. It gave me the spin that was able to check up on my shots. It was great.

As for the pro v1, I liked them when I did play with them. Felt as good as the vice pro plus a. D maybe better. Slightly better. As for the golfer I am now, I would be more than happy with the vice pros.

Will definiteyly buy the vice pro plus for my game.

  13. Im a 20 handicap index player and i feel the vice is just as good as the prov1 especially when i duff my shots

  14. Vice Pro Plus is more of a rival to the ProV1x. To me, Vice Pro Plus feels like a Prov1 off the face, but spins with irons and wedges like a V1x. I made the switch but I keep a box of ProVs around when I play a match. It's a mental thing for me.

  15. I switched to them this season and really do not regret it. Thanks for doing this review Matt. I know others have reviewed and a friend of yours switched last season to Vice for his course vlogs and such

  16. Jason below is correct. Vice has a ball recommender tool on their site. The Vice Tour would be for slower swing speeds and beginners. The Pro and Pro Plus are what should be compared to ProV1. I've been using the Vice Pro all season and it's an excellent ball.

  17. Vice is such a good ball. Love playing them. I think trying any of the Cut golf balls would be a nice review too. Cheers Matt.

  18. Vice is such a good ball. Love playing them. I think trying any of the Cut golf balls would be a nice review too. Cheers Matt.

  19. I haven’t found a better ball than the Vice Pro. The Pro Plus and Kirklands are great too. My days of spending $4 a ball are long gone 💣 🏌🏻

  20. The one Costco have is the cheap one which is comparable to a srixon distance. Good luck with those from 100y and in 🤣🤣
