  1. The Ping crossover looks like a good long iron replacement. I just picked up a 20 degree Callaway Maverick Pro hybrid to avoid long irons, but it wouldn't stop me from buying an I crossover. Certainly, would go with that over a 4 and 5 iron.

  2. Looking at the lofts if I ordered a G430 set it would be 6i-PW, anything below 25 degrees of loft in an iron is just not consistent for me – I am better with a hybrid. The problem with the G430 lofts is the pitching wedge comes in at 41 degrees, which is a 9i in my i210s. That means you probably need to play 4 wedges: 45, 49/50, 56 if 3 wedges or 45, 49, 53, 58/60 if 4 wedges so not actually sure you have a gap in the bag for the crossover

  3. Very interested in the cross over 🤔🤔🤔 do like the look of it Andy !!!
Enjoyed trying the Evenroll putters at the weekend with Dan thanks for leaving them to try pal 🙌😉👍

  4. Easy answer And, don’t buy 4/5 irons anyway. Use hybrids or 7/9 woods which are miles easier to hit.

  5. I'm interested in them but I will only buy 7 8 9 and pitching wedge and if I can only get them fitted at American Golf I won't buy them .Full stop

  6. Currently have the g400 4. In the bag and replaces 2 clubs just go down on the shaft just easy to play with a good ball flight

  7. My 4 and 5 iron do the exact same thing and that's sit in my shed unused since I use hybrids for those yardages!

  8. Thanks Andy, I appreciate your opinion on bag setup. Usually we average golfers are just stumbling around in the dark until we figure it out for ourselves.

  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in tournament / competition play you're not allowed to alter loft or lie so effectively, it's only replacing one club at a time. It does look like a great product though. Thanks for the review !

  10. Stronger Lofts & Freeing up a club – this is what I've done for 3yrs – and it was strong lofts that gave me the idea. I did this with TXG in Toronto – the lofts are (47,42,37,32,28,24) – 47 is old-school PW & 24 is a bladed 4-iron – using these lofts frees up 1 club – an important key here is also to make sure your PW gets to 47 – you only need 2 more wedges – which frees up another club – now you can add a ChipR, 9wood, 4-hybrid – lots of choices

  11. We get them first in Australia because we are entering peak golf season and the demand here is less than the northern hemisphere so it’s easier to meet as production ramps up.

  12. Great did Andy however a bit of a caution if one cannot swing the four and five iron fast enough to make them re-perform chances are they may be better going to a hybrid because it has been my experience comparing my are flex ZX force Rick sans to the ZX Strickson utility irons that allow the irons are perfect for me I cannot swing utility irons fast enough to make them perform I am going to a hybrid for next season

  13. All 14 clubs have a purpose and that depends on course and conditions. It's not just loft, wedge bounce is a factor.

  14. Those strongly-lofted 4 and 5 irons have no place in my bag. As Andy said, we "average" golfers don't have enough swing speed to get them elevated properly. For me, hybrid equivalents are the way to go.

  15. I picked up a 5 and 6 of the Mizuno hm HL and they are phenomenal. Easy swing and the 5 goes 180 yards. I have never hit a 5 that far in my life til these!!

  16. You make a good point about gapping and overlapping yardages, but I don’t really see this as a case for the iCrossover but rather why I’d wait for 430 hybrids. You’ve got 15 yards of rollout from the iCrossover. I’ll bet anything a 5 hybrid will give you more ball speed and stopping power. I frequently get 1.48-1.5 smash factors with my 425 hybrids and have no problem stopping them. I’ll bet 430 hybrids might even be hotter.

  17. Have them here in NZ but the prices!!,…phew! Prices are way too high now for the average golfer! 😢😮

  18. I game G410s 5i-Uw and I carry the 5i right around 200. From there I go 4h 22° and 5w 19° 3w 15° (cranked up to 15.5°)

  19. I have been playing 4 and 5 hybrids all year though I need to get the gap between them check as with everything softening up and no run out they probably go the same distance. I love the idea of driving irons but playing off 15 I feel a hybrid is just a bit more of a guaranteed result.
