Yeah so this is what *this* golfer looks likes with a 5 handicap. He definitely knows a good bit of course management and when and how to hit certain shots, but that backswing looks crazy amateurish.
Really goes to show how much strategic playing can produce nice results regardless of your handle on certain fundamentals.

You are a fantastic golfer but I would love to play you has a 7 versus you as a 5 from 6,700 yards.
It’s an athletic game. I believe off memory, you probably card out as an 8-10 from that distance.
On top of the fact that your lifestyle affords you the ability to practice rigorously.
I subscribe and follow your channel, love your videos.

Love your videos. I think one thing you don’t get enough credit for is that your misses are not that bad. Looks like you keep the ball low and that helps keep it in play.

Proof that everyone has a swing that “works” for them. The backswing was super flat, but he is still able to impart a nice little draw on the ball.

Hey fellow vancouverite here . Love your videos and seeing u you make vids on all the courses I play regularly. May I ask what you do for a living besides yt?

Wow – avoiding OB is clutch. Your misses seems to largely be about distance. Mine are about direction. I can’t seem to play a round without two or three shots OB. I’m like a 13ish, and while playing a round just like you did feels totally doable to me, I know that I’ve got too many big mistakes in the bag to consistently shoot lower. Really great perspective!

As a 5 handicap, I would love to be able to just hit the fairway half the time.

Your content inspired me to keep playing after a really tough learning curve.
I’ve found a local par 3 course and its making a huge difference in shaving strokes off my scorecard.
Congrats on your success.

I feel so good about my swing after seeing this, lol.
Still, mad respect for your recovery. I’m usually blowing up if I’m hitting that many mishits.

“I make up a lot of strokes around the green”
Every time I see a video of yours I’m giddy because it demonstrates just how much a solid short game will save your ass.
To be blunt, I have no clue how you manage to get around with the type of swing, but it works.
As always, keep posting! It’s chicken soup for my golfing eyes.

Fact of the matter for golfers like you, versus golfers like myself, on the cusp of breaking 80, is that y’all generally can get out of trouble okay. Nevermind course management, but when you hit bad shots, recovery is pretty good. Secondly, the short game differentiates the above average from average. You guys are mostly money inside 100yds, at least consistently hitting GIR, and putting is rarely over two putts. I’m trying to get to that level, but will be a while.

Good to see you posting on here Adam! What are your plans this off season now that the rain is hitting Van?

You’re lucky at any handicap to hit one or more perfect shots in a round. The rest are various degrees of misses

You and I are the opposite. I’m a 6. I hit my drives about 290ish. I can play from almost any distance and be comfortable. I hit lots of greens because I hit I lot of wedge approaches. The problem is, I putt and chip like an imbecile. I usually never birdie more than twice a round.
I enjoyed your video!

This guys’ definition of a “bad shot” is much different than my definition of a “bad shot”.

This is a skill I need to learn. I was around a 5 at my best but scores would range between the high 70s and low 90s depending on how well I could time my swing. I was the classic long bomber who couldn’t chip or putt. I’ve just discovered your videos and I’m jealous of the consistency you have round to round.
Also, if you have a chance please play Mayfair Lakes out in Richmond! Learned the game on that course; would love to see how you’d approach it

This was a lot of fun to watch, and I’ll be checking your YT for more! I’m only just starting to get into golf as of the past 1-2 months, and seeing a count of bad shots in the video, along with seeing the round shot-for-shot, helps to ground me and realize “everybody has bad shots, usually quite a few.” I have a long way to go, and I’m probably going to try to get some proper classes to help me get the fundamentals and at least feel confident in my ability to know how to correct and hit the ball straight, but this kind of content helps with my mental game in the interim 🙂 Now I just have to stop injuring my upper back every time I swing…Thank you for posting!

My misses are way more disastrous than that! First shot duffed off the tee 40 yds ahead. Second shot gotta make up some distance so smoked out of bounds. Third shot dunked right in the bunker. Fourth shot thinned across and off the green. Fifth shot duffed to the fringe. Then blast the putt 10 feet past the hole. Then leave the putt 2 feet short. Then lip out the third putt. Man I hate par 3s!
