I forged my very own golf club and tested it out! Visiting Swifts Forge near Belfast, I tried my hand as a blacksmith and build my own golf club. This is a video I’ve been trying to do for YEARS, so thank you to Aaron for agreeing to let me loose in his workshop and being an amazing teacher. Make sure to show Swifts some love on Instagram (@swiftsforge) and check out their website: https://www.swiftsforge.com/

  1. This was so cool man. You need to frame that immediately. That's a piece of history.

  2. This was a awesome video! May bring some recognition to how much time and effort goes into forged irons and putters! Maybe will make people understand why they cost alot more $$$$$ then non forged clubs! Very cool! Great work my friend!

  3. Disappointing, I was under the impression he was going to make iron not putter. Putters are not interesting

  4. I've been a blacksmith for over a decade and have made all kinds of things. Knives, a sword, chandeliers, railings, etc. Being a golfer, I've thought much about making my own putter. My design is very similar to your final product. My only issue is that I don't have a milling machine. Nothing, though, that can't be handled by some filing and a Dremel. I have some wrought but nothing with that cross section. When you talked about softness you would be right. Wrought is the softest iron you'll find. That's also the reason it's no longer made. It's too soft and not strong enough to endure any kind of rough wear. But, it is beautiful when etched. The cork grip is a great idea! Get the hosel bent to suit your stance and enjoy the envy of every golfer you play with.

  5. THAT is a Brilliant video and well done forging it Pete. Something the other UK youtube golfers haven't done. Please elaborate on the cork grip over time.

  6. Wow …just wow….😁👌

40 odd years ago I had a proper, crafted wooden putter – beautiful.
I used it for about a year then dumped it when I got my B60.
    Which was a mistake.
Seeing you with this beautiful, unique piece of artwork brings back the pain of loss.
You keep it and use it – if it goes wrong it's you, not the club.
But if ever you get bored with it, I'll take it off your hands in an instant 😉
    You lucky, lucky bugger….😁😳
