  1. Sorry lads. How can you watch that final hour of LIV and not enjoy it.

You cannot be a golf fan to not appreciate the drama of any one of 6 winning it with 2 holes to go.

I love the majors. I love the cut. I love all teeing off on the 1st. Let’s keep that special. For the majors. Allow a bit of fun for the other weeks. Beats watching the John Deer Classic ffs.

  2. The thing that baffles me is how does this go forward with LIV and how do they even run as a business. They pay these 100 of millions for players to switch and than stream it for free on youtube. How does this business survive or are they just spending money out of a saudi fund just for fun and they dont want to make money.
But if they do and in 1 or 2 years they start streaming it on their own service and you need to pay 20-50$ a month to see it, I think the majority would just ignore it and not watch.
Even a free stream on youtube is only 30-50k views, maybe the last hour is over 100k but they would never pay for it.

  3. I've gone off a bit off this programme with this guy saying something as ambiguous as "I don't know what it is, but I don't like it" describing a golf game where Dustin Johnson won a play off with an Eagle putt for 4 million and The Open Champion was chasing all weekend.

  4. My nephew's wife took her own life last month, after a contentious divorce she initiated. Looking back, it's now obvious she was struggling with mental health issues more than any of us appreciated at the time. That closing letter really kicked me in the heart.

Americans, if you're thinking of hurting yourself, dial 988 for help. Peace.

  5. Really wanted Lee Westwood to win at the weekend. For one main reason. Because he wasn't in the top 6 coming into the last day he was not finishing on the 18th hole but instead the 3rd. He could of easily birdied the last and won in front of about 20 people, because everyone else was on the 18th. How is that meant to be a good thing for the them. I'm all for teams but it makes no sense that the players don't wear the team clothes. In any other sport this happens. Wonder what your views on podcast

  6. Charles Barkley for the conversation of how he got over the yips, Gareth Bale and Shevchenko because they are both handy

  7. Only pro liv comments here….. Are you filtering out dissenting voices ??
Personally I think LIV golfers are morally bankrupt mercenaries that shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near PGA tournaments.

  8. Not sure why Rick's sidekick doesn't man up and be honest, he has an air of jealousy toward the LIV tour, perhaps he believes adopting an anti-LIV attitude puts him a favorable position with his peers..?

  9. rick shields "I didn't need to watch the two and a half days beforehand" surely this logic could be applied to any golf event not just a LIV event if you're only interested in seeing the finale? Lets be honest if that final day was a PGA tour event people would be hailing it as one of the best events and final rounds in recent time. That final round was up there with the UK open this year.

  10. I actually fir the first time this week found myself into the team aspect of LIV. I was excited for Kevin Na’s team when they had the lead. Then to see them fall off the podium was a bummer for them.

  11. LIV golf is awesome. You of all people should be onboard with innovation! If it was not for innovation you would not have a career!!

  12. In regards to Rick's game…maybe it's the shot tracer but you aren't drawing the ball…but hooking and it's almost every club…and chipping is too flippy. You are far better at hitting a golf ball than me, but to be honest if you take care of those 2 things, you are easily breaking 75 every round. Just my opinion.

  13. Don't worry Guy, LIV will do just fine without you. And for Rick, you played pretty well, when you were testing clubs & balls at the training facility.

  14. Honest question. Are you afraid to talk negatively about the pga? Like talk about the real unfiltered truths? For example, the way they keep saying “Saudi Backed” which sounds incredibly racist even even with their history of not allowing blacks onto courses. Also how they talk about their rich history but seem to forget or dismiss their real history is full of racism, sexism and classism. Maybe talk about how everyone but the Liv players are talking about money. Rory literally said they should be happy with the money they’ve made and not play in the BMW/ take a spot. Couldn’t the same thing he said about him? Why is he so concerned about how much money they’ve made and why would it matter if they qualify for a tournament. I just wish somebody would ask those questions or talk about them. It’s not a dig at you guys. I understand it might hurt your brand. I can’t find people talking about these truths anywhere except comments.

  15. Guy, you really echoed my thoughts on the team element. There's no reason to support a particular team, other than because of who is currently playing in the team. If you think about all the teams (and team names) that endure – sports teams, or national teams or continental teams (like the Ryder Cup) – the thing that binds them all together is that they have a natural shared identity which is based on a city, or a country, or a continent, or culture. This gives them a natural fanbase and a natural reason for existing. The LIV Golf teams don't have any of this, and there's no reason for the teams to really exist outside of a fabricated marketing aspect. Truly, they could have called two of the teams 'Bovril' and 'Marmite' and these teams would have had more reason for existing, and wider natural support, than whatever the current teams are called. I will also say that I agree with Rick – there's too much golf to watch. Kinda like when the T20 craze kicked off – now I just don't watch any cricket any more because there's so much content competing for my attention. Ironically, one of the solutions I was thinking of where there's a secondary 'relegation' league, would result in more golf being played. But at the moment I also find LIV is not that interesting because there's no real need for the golfers to win – either they make a bunch of money if they don't win, or they make an absolute f***ton of money if they do. And that's great for them, but extremely boring for us. It needs some more drama/pressure to make the performances actually mean something.

  16. One way to make golf less frustrating would be to change the stroke and distance rule for going OB: hit your second shot from the tee instead of your third
