I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.
My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

Why do I keep topping the ball? Bringing my head up?
One piece of torso gets crispy swing.. Got it!

That's exactly what I need to learn to do…
The large muscles of the body power the golf swing. The core. The arms more or less in my opinion go along for the ride and stay attached to the motor. I understand what Ben Hogan said about having three right hands, and people wanting to use that right arm or a trail arm powerfully through impact. But think about throwing a heavy medicine ball forward; you need to move those core muscles, those big muscles to generate enough energy to toss that medicine ball; arms can't do "bleep". If you were to stand still and try to throw a medicine ball with your arms only it wouldn't go very far. The arm sort of come along for the ride in the downswing, however you are able, they must get into that magic slot without casting. Every time I watch Ben Hogan's follow through, it looks as though his arms are being pulled through by some magical Force or energy, not being generated by his arms alone. It looks like they come through powerfully as a result of the momentum he creates at the top of the backswing, as his hips bump forward and he starts with the lower body, as he indicates in his video. He says the legs and lower body start first, getting you into position to hit.
How are you getting your weight on the left?
Yes, the one piece takeaway turning the chest and arms together maintaining that triangle at a dress is golden. A good practice drill is to swing back and through with head covers under both forearms or something similar in order to maintain that chest and arm turn together.
