I've got 4-pw in the new forged tech. Coming out of a set of Mizuno 921 Tour. Have to say I'm very happy with the Cobras. As soft or not softer feeling as any forged iron I've played over the last 30 years.
Got fitted for the forge tec x and have been gaming them most if this golfing season. Butter smooth off the face, distance is phenomenal and they're super forgiving. I struggled a lot in the beginning because I'm 6'7 and have never been fitted for irons before. Once I learned to stand a bit more upright, I was amazed at how good they are. I got 5-GW but still struggle with the 5 cause it's more like my old 3 iron which went as far as my old 4. Great vid James.
I know it is a bit weird for one guy to compliment another guy on his clothing, but I really like the shirt you are wearing James. Okay so I really enjoy these types of comparison videos. Please do more of them. Also, when you and Chris do a best ball format. Looks like a bit of a stormy day. Fall is coming very quickly.
@James Robinson ….. how about a legit 18 hole stroke play match between you and Chris ?? Release the video in 6 parts ( 3 holes at a time ) it’s a solid week of videos. ?????
I bought the forged tec irons last September and i do like them but saw the new forged tec and i loved the new streamlined look, i have thought about upgrading….looking foreard to your review before i make my decision 👍
What ever happened to Ping Golf balls ? And why are Pinnacle balls so terrible ? What is stopping them from making a premium 3-5 piece ball ? Same goes for top flight etc
I also have gamed the 2020 version and now game the 2022 version. Love the 2022 version. Softer feel and better sound. Offset is only .25* less per iron, so the visual is slightly different but not the effectiveness per strike.
I have the copper finish on the 2020 forged tec. I love the clubs but the finish wears off the bottom very fast. Stick with the chrome if that is an issue for you.

I’ve never hit a Cobra club but am willing to change if the chance were available.
I just got fitted for these. I went with forge tec in PW – 7i and forge tec X in 4i – 6i. Never thought I would swing cobra, but they feel very good.
I play the Forged Tec x. Went from shooting high 90’s to low 80’s in 8-10 rounds
The 2020 forge tec are amazing and I have been playing them for a couple years. Would love to try these!

For some reason… the NEW forge tech look like the Costco Cobra set… might be don’t or how they just have COBRA in big print. 🤷🏼♂️

It’s the Taylormade P790/770 looks just like them.
I switched from the 2020 to new ones. New ones are way better. Feel better, sound better and distance control is better.
I think the new ones look stunning
