  1. Just took the plunge ….added a jazzy bucket hat to my set ….making sure I maximise my grins in reg.

  2. Yeps, … driver just needs to get me in play and those extra meters shouldn't matter. Note to myself, … then do that!!! LOL.

  3. I did this the other day. I played the front nine on my home course and I am usually 7-8 over consistently on the front (I am a 14 handicap). I got together with a guy who is a +1 handicap and I played his drive on the front and ended up 1 under (don't think I 've ever played the front there under par).

The big difference was the distance. I was never more than 120 (usually am about 160-180) out on any par 4 and was able to reach the par 5s in 2.

  4. Tee shots cost me, at a minimum, 5-10 strokes per round. The difference between me shooting 80 and 90 is ALWAYS getting off the tee. Pitching, chipping and putting don't cost me two strokes a hole if I blow it. A tee shot can cost me 3+ depending on OB and water.

Every weekend warrior I know that claims to play 80s golf doesn't count their OB off the tee.

  5. In order to score well, i have to drive the ball well.

Hit 13 fairways a couple weeks ago (would have been 14 but i hit it through the fairway, lol). Shot 69 on a legit 133 slope rating course.

Played a week later on an easier course, lost 3 balls, shot 83 with a double and a quad. Front 9 killed me, 3650 yards so i had to keep hitting driver even though i was off.

I have shot sub 80 multiple times with a driving iron and no metals, because i was struggling so much with them (got that idea from this channel).

  6. What was that devilry with the 9 iron from 171 yards? Even never-skip-legday-thunder-thigh Mo took an 8 iron (which was already impressive). Did the wind start blowing? I mean that's Bryson territory, not even PGA tour average…

  7. made a 6 on a hole by trying the hero shot and I could hear Waddaplaya kicking my behind saying while the tuba played…."play with the big head not the little one"

  8. Mo s swing is so impressive… Now see it in real life… Uh i am dumb founded… Mo is without a doubt a 5 times better person than golfer.. Thank you Matt for introducing us to quadzilla.

  9. I watch a ton of vlogs, and everybody teaches "golf swing"!!! The playa-in-chief teaches "how to play golf"… sincere appreciation Matt, what a difference you've made in my game! (not in my swing, but that's coming along too)

  10. Great experiment Matt, taking loads of info from you to the practice area working back from the whole, a solid month of putting, a solid month of chip/pitch. The difference on the course is amazing. Thanks again Matt. PS my Birdie bank ball markers arrived today, there beautiful.. waddaplaya wadalife 😎

  11. My big takeaway from this series isn't necessarily whether the short vs long game is more important, but mostly about decision making. Amateurs aren't going to be able to reach pro level short game even with a lot of practice, but we can save a lot of shots if we just improve our decision making, especially off the tee. Making good decisions doesn't cost any time or money, and anyone can start doing it immediately.

  12. Your Videos keep getting better. This went about what I expected. I’m only drive the ball 200 yards and very rarely have a wedge in. Most holes my approach is from 200-135. My greens in regulation better than 50% from 8I in. I took to heart your multi-dimensional strategy to heart after watching the breaking 80 whiteboard. I focused my work on short game and lag putting and picking the spots to miss. It’s great to see you put the multi-dimensional strategy in your video. I hope viewers take the time to review it and take it to heart! Thanks again for all the hard work and thought you put into helping us amateur golfers!

  13. Love it Matt, thanks for the dedication, and BTW I out drove my players tonight with using my 7Wood off the tees!! Stress free and loose. Driver will come out again soon I hope

  14. Your commentary is awesome. I have no idea what you're on about … big brain, small brain, heart, what? Sounds amazing though. Poignant.

  15. I saw Mo didn't make the cut at the 3M. What did he end up shooting in the first two rounds?

  16. Hey Matt I have the perfect channel boost! Matt and Pro Mo VS. Garrett and Grant from Good Good Golf 😎

  17. Great video and love the writeup in the end. We have to learn our own game and figure out what we should be working on to get better results! Love it Playa!
