I’ve added 15 yards to my iron shots by using this new method of striking my irons. In order to strike your irons longer and more consistent I recommend getting more height. This method looks at creating a better strike with irons, with more height, hitting down on the golf ball, take loft off the golf club, create a better strike with more spin and hit more greens. Using this method has helped me to add distance!

The idea of this iron drill is stopping to scoop the golf ball, reducing the chance of thinning the golf ball, or catching the golf ball fat. This proven method and new method is simple and for any iron, any golfer whether you are a beginner golfer, professional golfer or a senior golfer!

This is a proven method and could be the difference to breaking 80, breaking 90 or even a 100 for the first time.

PGA Golf professional Alex Elliott shows you I’VE ADDED 15 YARDS TO MY IRON SHOTS WITH THIS NEW METHOD! (PROVEN METHOD). This is a proven method to better golf! This is one of the best drills i have used and has really helped me to hit my irons longer, hit my irons straighter, hit my irons further, hitting my irons higher, hitting my irons like the pro.

  1. Alex do you have any advice or drills on trying to stop lifting body and head during the backswing. I'm trying to help a beginner but obviously not qualified to give too much advice. It's like he's trying to help lift the club with his body putting him almost on tip toes during the backswing subsequently causing many fresh air shots. I know using your shadow can help keep your head more still but that's not always possible in England lol. Any help much appreciated. Cheers

  2. Thank you for another clear, helpful video.
I would be delighted if I could get an extra 4 yards with my irons.
Alex seems to improve his game every video.
Probably he is practising what he teaches.

  3. Just recently found your channel but incredible to the point info. Subbed. Keep up the good work!

  4. You’re right. Besides one-putting more often, approach shots are one of the best ways to lower your scores. I still think having less than 30 putts a round is more important. One-putts not only give you birdies, they also help you save par, when you miss greens. I keep my putting stats, and it never fails….. My best rounds are when I make a lot of putts. Period. Even on mediocre ball striking days. Putting strokes are always over 40% of your total score. Get good at it!

  5. It’s a good video but the caveat is if you deloft the club like you are supposed to you need a fair amount of speed to generate the appropriate spin and launch. Most players do not have that speed and I can imagine a lot of low launching thin shots in their future lol

  6. Love this! Got to give it a try! I've lost so much distance! 6I was 185yrds, now 140! I feel like I forgot how to hit Every Thing!

  7. Have been working on that lately, hit my best 8 iron of my life! Felt like I hit a rubber ball, must have carried over 155 yards, when I was playing a 140 yard shot. And tempo is a key, stopped trying to kill it helps
    Thanks

  8. Please explain why the thumbnails are often in no way connected to the actual information in the video. Cheap clickbait? If this continues, it will be time to unsub…

  9. Oh no please do not ever scoop those irons as you want to smash those irons into the ground after hitting the little ball first. It is a scoop / mash thing I suppose.
Please let me know if you require any additional or further comments, feedback, input, commentary, advice, training, or schooling.

The only time we ever want to lift or scoop ANYTHING in golf is that nice beautiful pint sitting at the bar at the end of the round. Now it is okay to lift or scoop that puppy right off the bar…..totally acceptable indeed. But Pint only. We only lift or scoop pints of beer in golf and NOT golf clubs.

Okay now you all please take good care out there – stay safe – and have fun golfing!!!!!!!!!

  10. My question is…you have just signed a decent striker on loan from Everton….he will score you 15+ goals this season….will Sunderland get promoted and aren't Everton the greatest club in the world for helping you out 😁

  11. I came up with something with my own game, if I addressed the ball square face if I got forward shaft lean then it caused an open club face. For me I have to close the face because when I get shaft lean it’s square. Really weird I’d like you to take a club with a slightly hooded face and just push your body and face into an impact position, the face opens to square. If you’re setup square and do the same the face is open. I think your minds eye subconsciously flips because it knows the clubface is open. Hopefully I explained that and would like to hear your feedback

  12. amazing video Alex.. I do have a request.. can you do a video on swing path using player cam. how far inside. can you use clock position for the path in to out. thks. I have not seen a video showing it. thks again. best content by far

  13. I like your drills Alex, your channel isn't all about bulking up and smashing it, instead what golf is really about grooving a swing. So how do you stop pulling your irons in and hitting too close to the toe? I've struggled with this all year, it seems like I'm throwing my left hip open a little too early which causes my arms to pull in, at least that is what it feels like. Striking the ball well just lost distance from too many toe shots. Thanks for all the good tips, they've helped out.

  14. Alex, that was such a great idea hitting two tees in front and on each side. I have used just one in the center to try to prove a downward ball then turf strike, but this give a feel of not getting too far in or out. Very cool.
