  1. I only pick a spot when I'm trying to avoid a harsh slope or bump. The rest of the time I see it as a long lag putt, only some of it goes through the air. I make a swing as if I'm putting. Keep it simple playas.

  2. Used this very technique today. Used 9 iron on flat or even chips, and used my 52 on chips to elevated green. Used a 56 over a bunker. Shot a 43 on the back 9. Best 9 ever.

  3. i love the idea of the practice shot while looking at your spot im gonna use that

  4. Mr Matt the uberbaus … you are such a patient coach … I see a new career forming. Cool vid again. Thx buddy. 🤘😎🤘

  5. You are the secret sauce on my Chipping wings……I'm so confident around the greens these days, as I chip like the Baus told me to. Thanks

  6. You wanna chip better? When you chip and you fat it a little, aim on the left edge of the ball next time. If you hit it clean on your next swing then great. You’ve calibrated yourself. Calibration practice is key. If you can’t control what part of the face you’re hitting, hit the toe and heel intentionally so your brain can better understand what it feels like to intentionally hit a spot on the face. This is called differential practice and it will make it easier to hit it in the center. Also have swing related tools to help adjust. When im fatting my chips, sometimes I just shallow my swing out a little. Shallowing out the swing naturally moves the low point forwards. If I’m thinning it, I’ll do the opposite and steepen it a little.

In addition to striking it better, you should also know how to hit a variety of shots from atleast 1 of your wedges. For me, I use my 56° for everything inside 70 yards unless I’m on a tight lie or specifically between 30-45 yards away. When in the rough, understand that bounce can be your friend. If my ball is in the rough, I choose my 56 because it has 12° of bounce which is 4° more than my 60°. If I open the clubface the bounce will help me in the rough. Conversely, it will hurt me on a tight lie so I may need to choose my 60 so I can better pick it clean. Etc etc. lots to learn. Just make sure you commit on your shots. Uncommitted swings reduce your chance of success so ignore the reality that you could hit a bad/maybe horrible shot and just focus and swing freely.

    Hope something here helps

  7. How would you chip when you are elevated ABOVE the green? Like a hillside chip down onto a green?

  8. My man Taj is smart. Buy golf lessons? No way. Barter with the BAUS himself and get free lessons for a CC membership? Way of the playa.

  9. Serious question, why use so much loft when there's nothing to go over? Most advice would be get it on the floor rolling ASAP. An 8 or 9 for example.

  10. It took it me awhile to figure out to hit a spot that would allow the ball to roll out to the hole instead of trying to hit it to the hole. A nice reminder. Thank you.

  11. Am a disciple of this approach having watched the Baus for a while now. I try to work out how quick I need to get the ball running & then pick the club.

  12. So important not to pitch at the flag. We all start off making that mistake and sometimes fall back into it. Your going to help Taj. Stay healthy Play in Chief.

  13. At 3:15 I was trying to figure out why the flag was back in the fairway. I have been really working on my chipping over the past few months and it really shows on the scorecard. Thanks Baus!
