  1. Cristo! Can I send you my ott swing? I just learned it and it's insane! It is such a minor tweak but allows me to unload rather than guard against a hook. It's crazy how subtle it is….thank you!

  2. Good eye about increasing the cup in the left wrist in transition. Reed might using his right hand to "tip the club/really throw down with the right hand" and this is causing his left wrist to cup more.

  3. Hi Christo!

Thank you for giving me a chance to reconsider the OTT-Swing, which has been considered a bad idea in traditional lessons.

In advanced golfers, the downswing does not start with the hands, but with the rotation of the hips and shoulders.

If the left shoulder begins to rotate, isn't it natural that the hand would be pushed forward along with it?

When judging whether or not it is OTT, we base our decision on the absolute change in hand position as seen from behind the target line.

However, shouldn't OTT be determined based on the relative relationship between the rotation of the body and the movement of the hands?

The same can be said about "Laid Off" club shafts.

It is quite natural for the shaft to gradually point to the left of the target as the left shoulder rotates on the downswing from the so-called "cross" position where the shaft points to the right of the target at the top, and it cannot be called "Laid Off.

Shouldn't we call it OTT when the hands themselves actively move forward, even more so than the forward movement of the hands passively brought about by the shoulder rotation?

Otherwise, OTT is not a special swing, and most players, other than the few who are consciously Hands-Lowering, are OTT-Swingers.

From this perspective, I am a bit skeptical about calling Patrick Reed an OTT-Swing.

To give another example, Jack Nicklaus's swing seems to me to be a completely square turn with no change in "going and returning", neither OTT nor Laid-Off.

On the other hand, Bobby Jones, Sam Snead, and Bernhard Langer can clearly be called OTT-Swingers.

I think you also mentioned that "even OTT-Swing varies to a certain degree depending on each player" , but unless we define OTT-Swing in relative relation to body rotation, I think almost all swings would be OTT-Swing.
