PING have made a HUGE MISTAKE with this AMAZING NEW CLUB… When PING release new golf clubs they often absolutely smash it out of the park… we saw the Ping g425 driver which has been a huge success over the last few years, the Ping i525 irons which have rivalled the best irons of 2022, the most forgiving golf clubs and even the longest golf clubs of 2022. We have also seen the Ping i210 irons, Ping Blueprint irons and also the Ping i59 irons which have been a major success for golfers wanting workable golf clubs but also forgiving irons… in this video we see a brand new 2022 PING GOLF CLUB.. but I honestly feel like they have made a HUGE MISTAKE with the release of this new golf club… let’s do it. and let’s do it now!

Hi you guys make a good team, great review,
Have a chipper form Maltby. Best $35 I’ve spent.
£170 for a chipper is a joke
I would never put a chipper in because I’d have to take a club out. Chippers are one dimensional and I can do the same with a 9 iron. Makes no sense. Also, the Ping Chippers are over $200 dollars!!! That’s literally more than single irons brand new. That’s such a ridiculous price. That stupid thing should be like $75 bucks.
Ping is so overpriced and feel like garbage
I have the three Cleveland wedges that are similar to this. I have a C, G and S in that set. Much easier to use than my old Gap, and Sand Wedges as well.
amazing new club, this is a chipper you're talking about, has the loft of a 9 iron, well here's a novel idea then, chip with a 9 iron,
It’s not like Ping to miss a marketing opportunity….😜
I"m so happy that literally every golf content creator covered this club on the same day.. it just proves how staged it all is, and reminds me not to be manipulated. This club is stupid… it's a lame idea.. and making videos doesn't make it cool in the long term. Buy it today and sell it next year at a huge loss.
This looks perfect for me because I often find myself short of the green. I'd happily take out my 5 iron (which I always struggle with anyway) and put this chipper in the bag.
Try the Cleveland "C-Wedge". It has 42 degrees of loft, which makes it slightly more versatile than the 38 degree Ping. I hit full shots with it from 100 yards. Absolutely love it.
Another great video with the Average Golfer !!!
big fan of collaborations with other YT golfers.
Punch out club as well for those of us who are a wee bit wayward.
Hi James great video… Do you have to set up to the ball in a specific way or just middle of the stance weight even etc?
They can update the old adage to “my worst chipper is much better than my worst sixty degree”.
Love seeing Andy on channel. great collab
Well done James 👏
$179 US is a lot for one wedge. But I’ll buy it.
I really want someone to tell me if you could make a club like this with more loft?
I've played with a very good female golfer that played college golf. She uses a PW for nearly every short game shot and has a great short game. She says she spends so much time with that club that she can play any shot with it. I'm sure confidence is a big part of it.
Foxy!!!?
As much fun as this was with Andy, I think this calls for a Foxy test. Hand full of balls from various spots with chipper (ping and/or Cleveland), wedge, and 9 iron or something.
Golfers are an odd lot. We have a member of our regular, and he has one of those giant soled 58 degree wedges. Scarcely a week goes by that someone doesn't call him out for having it in his bag. He hits it very well and it is very good out of the sand. I am not sure when we have become a style over substance consumer base. It is a mystery to me.
andy and James wud love to see u both do a round at the plassey
I have the old Ping ChipO,,,,love it,,But that ChipR,, looks compact ,, quite nice,,,,,
I'll be getting one of these to replace my 60° at the end of the month 👍
It might be time to get rid of that 14 club rule
Best looking chipper on the market. I would not be ashamed to have this in my bag.
Practice gripping down a couple of inches on an 8 iron or 9 iron or PW, giving a more vertical shaft and slightly toe down position. Use a putting stroke to give a similar result to a chipper.
Enjoying these videos because the average golfer channel is great too!
Compare it to the square strike
Like to see this compared to chipping with a super game improvement 9 iron – same sort of head size and weight
Andy never got around to answering the question of what wedge would he remove to have the Ping chipR replace it. Interested to know that answer.
You guys work very good together.
I’m going to try the Chip R for myself.
