My review of the new Ping ChipR golf club which can massively help your chipping around the greens. This golf club won’t help your actual golf swing BUT can help the consistency of your golf ball striking improving your results and lowering your scores.

Putting a chipper, even an expensive one like Ping, means I have to take another one out of my bag. Not happening. I use a 7 iron and a putting stroke and that works just fine.
Seems like an unnecessary addition to the bag. Mike your reviews are always incredible and nothing but class sir.
What's the head weight?
Makes sense to me. I can't chip at all anymore. I carry 13 clubs.
I have the Cleveland "C-Wedge" and love it. It is a "chipper" but you can take full shots with it, which you apparently can't with the Ping. I hit the C-Wedge about the same distance as my gap wedge (I hit my GW about 105 yards and the C-Wedge is around 100 yards) so I took the GW out of the bag. Straightest club I have ever hit on full shots and it is amazing around the green. My favorite club.
Too much $$$.
And I won’t sacrifice another club out of the bag to put a chipper in that costs far more than the average price of any iron in my setup.
I wish they would have made it with more of an anti-chunk sole. I think that would help the people it's designed for more.
Oddly, this looks like a perfect training club for a beginner to learn the basic short golf stroke. 🤔
At that price there's no probably about it. I definitely won't be buying that club.
Hey Michael. Chippers as you know have been round for years usually on those late night Infomercials. I saw this at our local golf store. Looks like good qualiry. It is limited in how often you can use it. Not from the rough. If you have anything between you and the green such as a bunker or some rough of any kind you can't use it. For the cost of about 200 US dollars, I would take that money and invest in some golf lessons to improve my approach shots and improve my percentage of hit greens. Love your channel.
i disagree that chippers are one dimensional. i have and use one and it is my go to club mostly around the green but also for super low running shots, like if your in the trees and you just want to keep it low under the branches and advance the ball into and down the fairway something like 50 yards. if i have a good apron to the green and 30 yards out, guess what club i'm using. i don't think it has anything to do with the perception of someone kinda supposedly cheating. i just want to have fun and make golf a little easier. and yes i can chip with my wedges, when needed and want to.
what club are you taking out of your bag, choke up on a 8 or 7 iron and achieve the same result with a little practice
Tiger's tip for chipping is to take a 9 iron and set your hands high so the shaft is upright. Seems like it would be the same thing as this club.
