Reminds of the topflight magna of the early 2000s. Same idea but it didn't really take off. Might chance a dozen out of curiosity
Andy maybe you need to flip your ‘initial concern’ of the larger the ball the smaller the hole on its head. Look at it from a different angle in that if you were to conduct a controlled test whereby you had the regular super soft ball v the super soft Max ball in a putt out in the scenario whereby the ball burns the edge of the hole or lips out. Then surely more of the larger balls are going to drop in the hole due to friction and gravity acting on a larger mass and surface area. 🤷♂️🤷♂️just a thought.
very interesting i do believe that confidance is a big part of the game and any thing that improves that has to be worth looking at
Great vids recently but what's happened to Sunday nights and the Andy & Hannah channel? More specifically where is Penny?
I played a couple of rounds with one I found in the rough. I'm a high handicapper, so probably not consistent enough to notice any difference in the way it played. But it was a genuine PITA to get in and out of the ball washer on the back of my golf cart (buggy to those of you on the other side of the pond). Possible, but really tight.
I thought it was 1974 when 1.68 was universal ?
Don’t want to make the hole any smaller than it already is 😁
My dad quit playing when TopFlite stopped making the Magna. I never played them. I am a died in the wool Titleist guy.
Tried these awhile ago when they were magna, found them very straight, soft but lost a bit of distance and around the green they didn’t spin they just rolled. I’m pretty decent around the green one of my better parts of my game so i didn’t like them for that reason and a bit too soft for me. Gave them to my mate his old dad tried them absolutely loves em plays the new ones now.
I can see the idea that high handicappers who have trouble getting the ball in the air might benefit, but I'd be concerned about putting.
Wilson Staff makes a golf ball called the Zip which is zero compression and plays great..The cost is around $ 29.99 for 24 balls…Great balls for beginners and high handicapers….Preform well off the tee and on the putter…Irons shots work well also…Used them when I started playing then went to a 3 piece ball from Wilson…Breaking News…
So a quick question if you do not mind sir. What is your swing speed?
It should spin less, think of it like a tire. How many less revolutions a semi or Lowrey tire spins to go a mile vs the revolutions a car tire spins to go the same mile, its a huge difference in just one size up in a car!!
Andy, you got me hooked on the Seed Golf Ball, which I really enjoy, the manufactures are killing us with their cost for their premium balls.
love your swing
May be easier to find in the rough😁
Intriguing ball video. Keep the great entertaining work Andy!
I been on the hunt for a ball I can call my own and something in the under $30 bracket. I have tried most of the brand names near that price point and a few others like Seed and Cut. The one I have sort of settled on is the Titleist Tru Feel. It has the soft feel and sound I like and the price is right – but I don't love it. I have played Callaway balls in the past and this one has me intrigued. I checked some reviews on Amazon and they seem to echo what AG is saying in this video; higher launching, good distance with slower club head speeds and longer with irons. Plus they come in orange which I got to like when I tried the Seed Matt ball – which also had a soft rubbery outer shell like the SuperSoft . So I decided to pick up a dozen to try them out. The price is definitely right – we shall see.
Andy I've played both and I don't find any different expect with a fairway wood I seem to get my 3 wood higher in the air with the max which helps me in my older years
I play in Asia where they change the ball for putting. So this might be a win, win situation,
