LIV Golf Has Just SHOCKED The World After This Player Payout..
Welcome back to Sportopia, today on the channel we are going to talk about They paid him HOW MUCH, what has the golfing world up in arms + other golf news. Easily one of the most successful and influential golfers of all time, Phil Mickelson has made a ton of money smacking a little white ball around on the PGA Tour for the last three decades. In fact, taking just on-course earnings into account, only Tiger Woods has made more than Lefty. But as it stands now, Mickelson will never earn another dollar on the PGA Tour as he’s signed a lucrative contract with LIV Golf, the controversial Saudi-backed upstart league making its debut this week in London. You know, the league he essentially almost killed before it ever got off the ground with his comments a few months back. But I’m not here to rehash all that nonsense
Today, I’m simply here to point out that Phil’s ridiculous contract with LIV Golf will pay him more than he made in three decades on the PGA Tour. Mickelson, who recorded his first PGA Tour victory as a 20-year-old amateur in January 1991, earned his first check a year and a half later, turning pro in June 1992. And over the next three decades, he became a very rich man while becoming one of the most successful players in the long and storied history of the sport. Lefty’s six major championship victories are good for 12th on the all-time list, tying him with fellow Hall of Famers Nick Faldo and Lee Trevino. His 45 PGA Tour victories put him in a tie for eighth with Walter Hagen. And, as mentioned, Mickelson trails only Tiger in all-time PGA Tour earnings, racking up $94,955,060 over the last 30 years. He’s certainly made a lot more money than that in endorsements, but we’re sticking to his on-course earnings for the purposes of this piece. Stay tuned for more in this video.

It is as if LIV golf does not care about making a profit. Just to be dominant.
Greg understand what the players need to play high quality of golf…the legend is born again :))
Personally, I've lost all respect for everyone involved with LIV / Saudi dirty money. Especially Phil after he bashed the Saudis. These players have sold out their souls, ethics and morals. Greg is nothing but a pimp for the Saudis. And the fans can blindly follow the LIV, but they too are being hypocrites. You can't ignore Saudi's involvement with terrorism and human rights violations.
US money, Saudi money, all good. What if Australia or China funding LIV, maybe PGA will provoke a war. DA
It makes me sick that the LIV players are at the US Open this week. If a bunch of washed up players want to make their money and join their tour, that's their right, but don't let them play in PGA or other majors here in the US. Players like Bryson have even come out and said it was completely a business decision to ensure his future financial success.
I was a bit surprised recently on learning Greg Norman spent 6 whole years as World No.1. Guess his ego was massive during that chapter in his life and now we have a resurrection of it with the arrival of LIV golf. Expect he has a great sense of power having the financial clout to beat the Americans at 'their own game', stripping them of some of their best 'assets'.
It will be interesting to see if there are any more 'surprise jumps' during LIV golf's time on US soil. Clearly that would have maximum impact and rub more salt into the PGA wounds.
It would appear the 'stratospheric' sign-up fees for big names are limitless, but obviously the only way to make things happen.

Now would be a good time to un "redact" the commission report and release the pages withheld.
Well, by accepting that money these guys obviously indicate they are fine to receive ridiculous amounts of money from an environment chopping up journalist in the basement of their embassies/consulates. I have not heard Mickelson condemning exactly that. He prefers to keep his mouth shut to receive too much money out of the hands of a tyrannical human rights ignoring system. Looks like that these guys have no morals/ethics/ decency when it comes to satisfying their greed.
No big deal. It sends a type of wake-up call to the PGA. The players signed so far have DJ as the only one capable of winning at a high level. Most of the remainder have trouble making the tournament cuts. Some of the players genuinely need the money.
Saudi been supporting pro soccer ⚽️ for decades….STHU!
Sorry to say, but the US government does not represent it's people. To say that they have a better human rights record than Saudi Arabia, ask the people in the Middle East and Africa. The US govt is rotten to its core.
I have lost respect for the money grabbers and Gred Norman.
What a crap post. You are an obvious creep who is only trying to create friction. You’ve pissed me off. Get lost.
It’s all about money on both sides PGA & LIV. If not, they should just play for trophies and love of the game.
Is this worst than the NBA ties with China?
Is this worst than the NBA ties with China?
To hell with the PGA! These golfers made there own careers. Do what you have to do boys!!👍
Where sport overlaps with politics it’s bound to get messy. Focussing on the sport aspect only, the PGA need to move with the times, LIV is just another evolution of the sport. From political perspective…… Oh dear, this is simply Sports washing, and for me this is where the problems start…..! It’s a shame sport gets dragged into the darkness of politics
So it was OK for Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus to start a new tour in the late 1960s, but we now see it as disloyal for some to leave for a new tour now? Not a fan of the Saudis or the new tour frankly, but I believe independent contractors can do as they wish. As someone else pointed out there is a lot of hypocrisy around the idea that we ignore the issues with some country's human rights issues when it's convenient but demonize others. Nobody's hands are clean if you go back far enough. Maybe what really bugs me the most is the way the PGA Tour is trying to bully their way through this whole problem. If they would have just ignored it and looked for some common sense compromise with the players (maybe allow one or two exemptions per year) I think this would have fizzled out fairly quickly. Their "hardball" approach may just make some players dig their heels in even more.
Golf has contributed more money to charity than all other sports COMBINED. Twice as much in fact.
Think we'll see that from the LIV? I think not. Too busy suppressing all those "pesky human rights".
And don't even think about being a woman. 2nd class property they are.
Wake up to the real problem here.
