The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

  1. Phil looks and sounds worn out here, and he has to play the toughest test in golf in a couple of days, but this is Phil Mickelson, anything can happen. The LIV players have made their choice, now they have to live with the fallout. They may have made peace with their decision, and they truly only need to convince themselves, but I would have so much more respect for them if they would just admit it's for the money and nothing else. Maybe more players will defect and the product will improve, but compare the golf played last weekend in London vs Toronto….scrappy play where the top names didn't factor vs an instant classic involving the biggest names in the game. I just hope it doesn't become two diluted tours where the quality of golf suffers.

  2. He should NOT show, the Fans are not gonna give him a break,,, this is just how I predict the outcome,,, Sorry Phil I'm a BIG fan, but you gotta expect something to happen,,,,

  3. As far as the suspensions, the lawyers are licking their chops. This is going to get ugly. I believe that everyone has a choice. Enough said.

  4. The dude has dedicated the majority of his life to entertaining people on the golf course. He owes no one anything. Make your money bro, to hell with the haters.

  5. Lets get it straight the USA dollar has coursed more hurt and killings than any other currency, THE PGA gold is run on bankers ster money the criminal of wall street so stop the hypogrotic views of the usa idiots

  6. Is every race of people allowed to play in this Saudi backed league? Are Jewish players allowed to participate?

  7. "What does legacy mean to you? And Do you think your legacy will change now that you're associated with LIV golf? Phil: Don't like multiple questions. Regarding legacy – I've enjoyed making billions of dollars. I'm excited about making many more billions (paraphrased). Seems clear to me about the legacy he cares about. Wild times!

  8. Before we blame a golfer (who is just trying to make a living golfing) for 911, maybe we should blame ourselves every time we fill our vehicles up with fuel. Biden is headed over there to beg the Saudi’s to increase oil production. Should we not blame him for 911 as well. Phil is one of the most popular players in golf history. He has a great reputation of tipping excessively which helps his fellow man in every walk of life. Phil is a hero not a villain. This High School golf coach admires what he has done for the game and how he treats people in all walks of life. So unless you’ve never used a gas pump your just as guilty as him.

  9. It is amazing how trump still lives in the (tiny) minds of the liberals. BTW my sister was killed when a Big Top INTENTIONALLY was coated with paraffin wax and gasoline caught fire and collapsed killing 168 people, primarily women, and children. As a child, I looked forward to attending circuses that were held under the big top. If being involved with Saudi Arabia makes Phil a bad person, then why do we do business with Saudi Arabia still today as a country.

  10. The one thing that stands out to me is that Phil came to Cromwell, CT multiple times when Tiger Woods refused. Even as the Travelers honors a Black American Golfer this week, I don't see Tiger at least coming to that, even if physically he can't play.

  11. If people would go to these pressers and LISTEN they wouldn't have to ask the same question over and over. "What did you work on to improve yourself in the last four months"

  12. why doesn't he just say "i'm doing it for the money, and any of y'all would do the same if given the opportunity".

  13. These are the dumbest questions ever. The guy made a move to do something better for himself and his family. Why is no one questioning the PGA for never paying its players even a meager guaranteed salary rather than players only getting paid if they win or place high in tournaments?

  14. After watching Phil and how he's carried himself in these brutal conferences, I am now a huge Phil fan. He's always been an elite player, and apparently an extremely decent human being.

  15. What a bunch of canned BS from Phil. His ungrateful financial decision to jump in bed with the likes of Norman, MBS and Trump will forever stain his legacy. That ah shucks nice guy persona was all a Fraud and I am embarrassed to say I fell for it. At least now it will be his butler to serve him the gummies and sleeping pills as he tries to fill the hole in his soul.

  16. Nobody has had to apologize for being on the PGA Tour??!!!?!??!
The PGA wouldn't allow black golfers until 50 years ago.

  17. Getting mad at Phil for playing LIV is so dumb.

I drive an electric car. I’m not screaming at you gas car people to stop buying oil from the Saudis. The hypocrisy is astounding.

  18. Good for Phil! These people throw stones but would do what he did 100%. Phil owns it and is trying to do his best for the game. 100% Phil lover here!! 💪🏼🇺🇸

  19. Phil, i am your fan now. Those reporters are more interesting in politic and trying to put you down.

  20. 9/11 Families United released a statement of their own, with comment from Strada.

“Phil knows exactly what he’s doing, and he and his fellow LIV golfers should be ashamed,” Strada said. “They are helping the Saudi regime ‘sportswash’ their reputation in return for tens of millions of dollars, at the very same time our government is rolling out more damning evidence of Saudi culpability in the 9/11 attacks. As the PGA Tour commissioner said Sunday ‘you’d have to be living under a rock’ to not understand the implications of involving yourself with the Saudis.”

  21. Koepka will go to liv soon. RIP Pga. And love the fact that two of the liv events will be held at Trump courses. When they moved the PGA from Trumps course for political reasons they just became another bloated, government, bureaucracy . You go woke you go broke.

  22. Saudi Arabia didn't send the Hijackers, they acted on behalf of Bin Ladin. The NBA, and NFL , Nike, have been in bed with the Chinese for years. Hypocrites. The saudis are not the only investors in LIV, there are many.

  23. Everyone else gets to make career choices based on what they feel is best for them and their families. Why can’t a golfer?

  24. I wish he would have responded, "I appreciated Rory's comments about human rights violations as he sat on a podium in Canada wearing Nike gear."

  25. Its his swing, his life ! Do want you want phil theres been dirty money in sports from china to saudi for years and yes in the PGA !

  26. Phil needs to tell them all to f off. Can't believe these hypocrites have the nerve to ask some of these questions

  27. I wondered what the big deal was but it really all comes back for these people that Trump courses are being supported by liv golf. They are so obsessed with Trump everything comes back to Donald Trump

  28. All of these sports organization entering the political turmoil going in this country is a bunch of BS. The PGA, along with the NBA and other have lost my support. Life will go on whether or not they exist.

  29. This conference is pretty funny, how the "journalists" are stating that the American public is upset with Phil… YA RIGHT.

Phil's legacy is just fine, but I get that the journalists are upset.

  30. I was listening to the comments from the Golf Channel media talking about this interview and Bryson's interview as well. The commentators bias is obviously pro PGA. This new tour will be a thorn in PGA's side especially if some of the players that mutinied over to LIV GOLF win majors and then not allowed to play in the Ryder Cup. The PGA is not and should not be a monopoly on golf! Just like in politics there is so much propaganda! No media head is truly objective.
