Why does Costco sell their golf balls so cheap, when actual fact its a great ball compared to the competition!?

I've found a few of these dotted around my local courses, and have played a few holes with them and I do like them.
It's my go golf ball, can't beat the price to performance ratio. The gloves are good too!
Play them all the time. Best value ball out there for the average Joe. Let's face it, we're going to blast them into woods and rinse them in the ponds. Golf is expensive enough. These balls are a great value.
Man’s rocking the 915d! Snap! Mines got 3w shaft and 9degree though 😂
Great price for that ball. But… They are from China. Maybe thats an issue, maybe it's not. But there are other balls, like the Vice made in other country's that are really good and still significantly cheaper than a major brand tour ball.
Your videos are so helpful, love it.
Question, I'm fairly new to golf and I don't play very much at all. I don't really plan to play a lot in the future, just a couple rounds a year with friends/family. I'm trying to put together a bag of used clubs that is extremely forgiving on a tight budget.
The thing is, forgiving and new seem to be one in the same. Would love if you made a video specifically about finding older used clubs that are extremely forgiving.
I typically play callaway super softs and than the max when it came out, when I start losing a fair bit of those I switched to wilson chaos colour for $27 AUD. I use callaway max on tournaments because I find the bigger size better for putting and use wilson chaos for every day play. I tried these on a whim when version 2 came out and absolutely loved them, hit just as well as any other premium ball including pro v1. The only thing that would completely convert me over to them is if they came in colours as I find them easier to find. Fingers crossed.
They are not cheap, the other ones are expensive
I would play these but I just hate the logo. I can’t be confident teeing up with the same brand as my toilet paper 🤷
Been using this ball for nearly a year since the 2.0 came out. I get a few people chuckling at me at the club but I don’t care. Until I get to a point where I’m not losing a few balls a round, I’ll keep using these. They are a bright white color and have a great feel to them. Watched dozens of reviews on this ball and no one has ever had a bad thing to say about this version. I add a line with a sharpie on mine also so that’s all I am paying attention to anyway.
The most premium golf ball I have bought is callaway crome soft n that was because they were on sale 😂
It cracks the cover is weak
I've been using Kirkland balls for over a year and they are amazing. Given up trying to convince my mates to change. Like a lot of people they have a snobby attitude and if its not Callaway, Taylormade or Bridgestone they don't wanna know
Play with them every single round. Love them and they do last a couple of rounds so durable enough
Fact of the matter is. There is no justification for the big brand prices. All we're paying for is the name. Nobody is gonna tell me, that, with the amount of balls, them companies are churning out, that they wouldn't make a tidy profit, at a lower price. Greed is what it's all about.
I have confidence in my ball choice…confidence that if i lose it then it has only cost me about 65p.
I've tried loads of different brands and 'models' etc., But for me it's all about the Inesis distance 100 (7.99 aa dozen, used to be 4.99!) Or Inesis soft 500 (about 15 quid a dozen, again used to be about 11-12 quid.
Simon the bag looks different we’re gonna need a WITB soon
I've got to get a card for Costco and check out the golf gear! Good vid Simon as always.
Hands down this is the best value 3 piece golf ball that maintains distance, feel, softness around the green etc etc, blah blah blah. It really is the best product for a £1ish per ball
I have not looked at any of the golf clothing in Costco…. how were the pants?
The Kirkland is pretty good. My buddy is a Taylormade rep so I get TP5s for free but if I had to pay for golf balls I would use Kirkland in a heartbeat.
I bet tietlist love YOU?!!! HAHAHA
👍👍👍
I use em
The gloves are the best out there. Balls, well I bought 2 boxes last time I was in and there my new ball. Nothing in it between them all tbh.
BIG fan of these balls, but for some.reason, they're not available online from Costco at the minute…. anyone know why?
As others have said, Costco work on very tight margins. They do make money on their products, but the way they make their profit is 3 fold.
1) the membership cost which is almost pure profit. I've heard rumours that world wide, their membership revenue alone is £300m. 2) They buy cheap in bulk and then sell in bulk to business. 3)For the average person you, almost, cannot go into Costco and spend less than £100. That's because of impulse buys. You don't go to buys a shirt, or dinner, of gazebo or….. but you do anyway.
Bring on the "value for money"/ cheap golf balls.
I play this ball
Slazenger v300 soft feel 👍👍24 for £ 15 wicked 😎
So weird, I bought my first double dozen the other day and played 9 holes with them yesterday evening. I had been using Chrome Soft X, as I wanted a bit more spin but I've been buying secondhand to keep the cost down. Even though I'd get "Pearl" or "A Grade", it's nice to have new ones for the same money. I was actually really impressed with them and much prefer the feel off the putter over the CSX, which can be very "clicky". The only thing which is a bit weird is that they seemed to feel "heavy" off the driver; I don't if anyone else has felt that?
