At any age, this guy would be fantastic, but at 16, he’s phenomenal. To play poorly and still shoot par — only in my dreams. Good luck Frank. If I was your advisor, I would tell you to go to college and play there first, get used to college competition, you can always leave and turn pro later. Once accustomed to the level of competition and playing well, then turn pro.
the kid didn't play bad by any means, but had he made anything he'd have been 5- or 6-under.
I mean, admittedly he drained a couple of lengthy putts (which maybe he probably shouldn't have), but he also missed a couple of shorts ones he should have made – otherwise he scared the hole a bunch of times.

If I have to endure one more video of RICK using this swing that smothers the golf ball that creates a ball that starts 2yds left then draws more and more & at the apex decides to draw even harder
A swing where the only way he can hit driver on the fairway is by using a PING driver infamous for having the launch angle of a putter and hits a ball that doesn’t have enough air to be a pull draw
If Rick keeps torturing us with this easily identifiable swing mechanics flaw

I can’t root for someone who refuses to even try to make us believe he knows what he’s doing wrong
It’s painful to watch
My best friend hitsnthese pull draws as well and it took me ages to change his habits because it fools you into thinking "it’s so solid and pretty in air I just have to start it 25 ft out right next time" but no matter how much they aim right or the try to,swing out right, it always starts left keeps going left because it’s a takeaway + path + hands on follow through + quick tempo + alignment + closed face issue.
When it’s this bad and it’s all the time like with Rick, it’s a minimum of 2 of those swing mechanics sometimes 3
& if you can’t solve it within a couple buckets of balls
Then you need to,start hitting exaggerated fades, set up like lee Trevino if you have to
The best thing you can do to dial in the feeling you’re needing is to exaggerate and make sure that 1. You’re getting the feeling you’re looking for even if exaggerated and 2. You’re making solid contact with the ball and the ball is doing the opposite of what you’re struggling with
This is hard for the technical players to understand but for us feel players, guys like Trevino Nicklaus Bubba Woodland Speith Fowler those guys especially the older guys never worried about if they started hitting the ball a certain way that was bad, they would either 1. Adjust to the feel they had that day and simply play that ball flight for the right never forced to try and correct to get the ball flight they wanted, or they would possibly risk wasting a hole to exaggerate the feel opposite of the feel they started out the round having to "over correct " so that the next hole they should mix the feelings and it added up to straight down the middle
Another point about the great feel players of our game is you never saw them struggle putting more than once in a blue moon & even then they probably only struggled on a specific kind of greens
Our friend Rick here, might be the worst putter of all the YouTube golf personalities, and the worst by far… no hole has ever feared Rick making a putt for birdie outside 2 feet on it, that is an undeniable fact.

Ive been watching you for ages now Rick! Totally love the content, however, ive noticed a slight pattern. Whenever you talk a lot down to yourself, it tends to affect your game more than when you dont, when you find the small good things in a bad shot and point them out instead of pointing out the bad things, it seems that you play better then. Just an observation and i could be wrong 🙂

You have to commend Rick for putting himself in these positions. In all seriousness his reputation as a golf coach could take a battering. 10 shot head start and still loses. But for the contents sake, and our amusement. he does it anyway. You're a top man Rick. Just to put it into perspective, he is still going round in the low 70's to low 80's. I wished I could get anywhere near that lol.
